Just thought I'd see if anyone has been out there lately.... I know it's probably on the lists of "Where Not to go in Colombia", but thought I'd ask and see if you all have heard if it's getting safer...

I had originally planned to go to Gorgona through Buenaventura, but am not going that way anymore. People have said it's now a very bad time, including a contact I have in Colombia. He doesn't live there but he might know people who do. I'm taking their advice though- prefer to spend an extra £100 for a return flight via Guapi than be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Shame really as I was looking forward to a few hours speedboat ride to the island. I will be in the Platypus before I head that way, so I will ask and listen for the latest before I go just in case the situation changes. If it turns safe and sound in the near future then that would be great.
