Budget hotel in Cartagena

Can anybody recommend me a safe and clean budget hotel in the Centro area or in Boca Grande/Laguito. Rent of a room should be between 25 and 35 USD.
Thanks in advance for any serious recommendation !

We just recently spent four days in Cartagena, we stayed at the Cartagena Plaza. I don't know the exact price of the room, as it was one of those package deals (tickets, hotel, meals), but my guess is we're talking about USD 50 per person per night. The hotel is clean and safe and the staff is very nice, that's for sure. By all means, the telephone number of the Cartagena Plaza is (5) 665.4000, and I believe it is located in Boca Grande. Good luck.

Your Cartagena Lodging options are many and.... http://www.cartagenainfo.net/alojamientos/alojamientos.php?categoria=HOTELES&lang=ENG

makes it ez for you to find what your looking for. There are more than two dozen lodging Home Pages, each with photographs, full descriptions, contact information and prices.

You can learn a lot about Cartagena from this site. It has more than 1,500 photographs and 700 pages, if printed.

Enjoy Cartagena.....it's a great historic and romantic city, right on the Caribbean.

think it over.... ....and come to Santa Marta instead.
Here life is more relaxed and there are many
things to do and see. Plus you have the Tayrona
park closeby. At this time of the year almost
all for yourself! And everything costs less,
that also goes for accomodation. At SunCity we
can offer you room rates from as low as 09.- USD
per night. That includes taxes (and complimentary
use of WAN right in your room!). We are located at
the safe historic center and our business is clean
and modern. Other than discount lodges, SunCity
features rooms with natural light (have windows!).

Hope to see you on this or a future travel.
Besides, we are only a 3 minute walk from the beach.

Kind regards

I stayed in Hotel Toledo, Av. San Martin, Boca Grande I just came back from Cartagena. Stayed in an executive room (with cable TV, telephone and a refrigerator) for about 27 USD (60'000 Col. Pesos) per night I can warmly recommend this hotel. It is very clean, safe and centrally located. Just around the corner there is a supermarket (Olimpia). It is open 24 hours. The staff in hotel Toledo (formerly called Paris) is very friendly and helpful. So it is a very good choice.
