Brits need Vaccinations?

For British, did you need to have any vaccinations before going to Colombia?

Thanks Nati

I already had Tetanus last week just to be on a safer side, and am planning to have Hepitis A next week. I am going to Cali for a week on 12th February :)

I think you're supposedly meant to have thyphoid as well, but in reality you don't really need anything.

Except maybe yellow fever - not cos you'll catch it, but some countries (eg. Brazil) won't even allow you to enter the country if you've recently (ie. in the past 2 years) been to a "yellow fever country" like Colombia.

Add tetanus and HEP B although HEP B is a 3 shot series over 6 months. In the higher altitudes I believe not so much an issue but in the outback would highly recommend. Yes the chances are low of catching something but if you do bad bad stuff. YF affects your liver so if you get it can permanently say goodbye to alcohol less you wish an early if you know what I mean.

Good news for YF is it only requires a 10 day lead time so get into your health center first thing this AM.

If you are going to visit the jungle, yellow fever shot is highly advised.
Tetanus, pertussis, diptheria combo shot is a good idea.

I had also had a combo shot of a few things, can't remember exactly- I think it was Diptheria/Typhoid/HEP A, plus also a HEP B booster- one in each arm. I also had the Yellow Fever shot. I'd had Tetanus booster already so didn't need that. The nurse also said it might be worthwhile having a Rabies if going into the jungle.
