Hello All,
Am wondering is someone could help me here. I am thinking of travelling to the US to buy one or maybe two laptops. My question is would I be charged duty when I come into the country though I am not a resident? Also has anyone any idea how much they would charge if the items were mailed to me (do I have to pay duty though I am not a colombian resident?).
Hope you can be of help.
Gracias
Gavin

Customs in Cali did however ask me what was in the box (computer) and did open the box and briefly look at the computer. They also asked to see the receipt. Then I was free to go...no problems.

I read in other posts, that apparently you can bring 2 or 3 identical items, and the posters did not have to pay tax. But I do not know if this would hold for laptops or not.
