Bringing an air rifle (pellet gun) to Colombia... Any permits or disclosures necessary?

I would like to bring my Beeman R1 pellet rifle with me to Colombia when I make the big move next month. Does anyone have FACTUAL information as to any permits or disclosures I will need to do this?

If it makes a difference the rifle has a high powered Bushnell scope attached.

Same post with the same link, http://www.airgundepot.com/gamo-hunter-extreme.html , was made March the first. But the name used that time was crsuribe2. He also wrote in the OP "What I'm comint to realize after posting here, is that PBH is full of nothing but big mouths. I have yet to encounter a single person who knows anything about the topic at hand. You're all just making assumptions and providing nothing but useless, arrogant answers."

"Same post with the same link"??? Not hardly!

Not sure what your intention is Gator but I can assure you I have not posted a similar inquiry under a different handle. Simply view my past post/comments and you will quickly realize I am not a troll here on pbh.

F.Y.I. The two rifles are entirely different air rifles. http://www.airgundepot.com/beeman-air-rifle-r1.html

The other poster ask about a "Gammo Hunter Extreme" and my post is about a Beeman R1. Two totally different rifles. The only similarity is they are both high powered air rifles.

My bad! Had I done a search here on pbh I would not have posted the inquiry above. No need for any further responses as I see, after further investigation I can legally bring it in to the country without special permits or declarations.

I am aware of the fact air rifles are sold within Colombia because I've seen them offered for sale in a sports related store in the Oviedo mall. I was simply curious if I needed any special permission etc. to bring it in to the country.

P.s. Thanks Gator for your less than friendly/helpful comments. You have clearly demonstrated your demeanor and I will be guided accordingly. Thank you!

I saw some major quality air rifles at the Bass Pro...in Hollywood Fl. These guns are for serious target shooters...and can really put a hot meal on the table...if you like pigions and squirrels! Maybe you can shoot passers by in the butt....they will never know what hit em! good luck.

You can get a Crosman 1077 semi with CO2 cartidges for only $100 but so underpowered on a relative sense. For grins I shot it on our local Sheriff's range open to the public and a 6" difference in trajectory in only 50 yds. Now my AR14 spot on! I would love to bring that to Colombia!

A Beeman is capable of consistently hitting an aspirin size target at 20 meters. It is a very serious airgun. Not that it is recommended, but I have read stories (legit) of guys taking wild hogs with a Beeman. If you were to shoot a person with a Beeman, unless the pellet hit a bone, it would easily pass right through the body.

At up to 1000 fps a Beeman can inflict some serious damage! And yes they are an extremely accurate air rifle.

Actually, this model shoots a .177 pellet at 1125fps.

Yeah, the RX2 in a .177 model can reach 1125 fps but it lacks the knock down power of say a .20 or .22. Still has tremendous velocity and is an extremely accurate air rifle although I don't care for the jolt it gives you.

Very educational! Didnt know there was a pellet gun powerful enuff to send a slug right thru a human body. Woah! And u dont need a permit to bring it in? Sounds like it falls into the grey zone which makes it very usefull potentially.......

How did this end up? Can a high-end air gun be brought to Colombia (by air entry & as regular accompanied luggage) without hassle?

twmcm: I successfully brought my Beeman R1 into Colombia. No hassles at all.
