Brief travel guide to Jerico

(This is a "brief" guide which means that we think it can use some more detail - leave comments! Written january 2007.)

Jericó lies in the south-east of Antioquia and is a beautiful coffee-region town. Photographers will love it. The houses in Jerico are large with patios and often beautiful decorations. You can see the priest walking around in the typical streets. There's a pretty park with beautiful views on the hill - the climb takes half an hour.

You can stay in the Casa Grande Hotel (Calle 7 No 5-54, tel 852 32 29 or 313 732 35 68, http://www.casagrandehoteljerico.com.co).

Note: this is an extremely brief travel guide, share your experiences in the comments :)

Jericó, Antioquia
Jericó(Antioquia), is one of the most interesting places to visit in Colombia. I went there last year and stayed at hotel Rio piedras with my entire family. It was so great: peaceful, with people so warm and fresh air, tipical food, great coffe, my antioqueña family!!. I have some picts to upload. I have a lot of picts and videos of coffe region as well Cali, my dear city. I wonder how to invest less than a day to upload them.

(Desi, I'm here because your words. Thanks)

Tipical here: Colombian
Tipical here: Colombian websites down or without response. Try to call the hotel Casa Grande and ask a suit with view to the park.

Could I post a picture of Jerico right here?

I love Jerico, my uncle owns a finca there. It is a beautiful town.

My trip to Jerico I also have been to Jerico. It was a great experience. Went there to look at some land as an investment but decided it was still too unsafe. However, I enjoyed the hospitality and the scenary. I believe that a saint (female) was either born, lived, or died there. I have to say it was one of the most beautiful and cleanest central parks that I have been to.

I rode my new Suzuki V-strom to Jerico today. What a beautiful area and the town was clean and the people very friendly. I happened to meet a Colombian family that invited me to their finca.

This is a great place for exploring via motorcycle.

My newly acquired Colombian friends gave me a tour of the town. I ask about the safety issue and was told there wasn't a problem around Jerico. Apparently things are changing for the good. I've also been riding around Amaga, Fredonia and Venecia...all very beautiful or interesting places. (Fredonia is interesting, but poor compared to other areas)
