Bogota's Weather

I have been to Johannesburg, South Africa in August 1995 which was their 'Spring'.

It was hot in the day time, but was freezing at night. It was because Johannesburg is about 1,600m above the sea level.

Seeing that BOGOTA is 2,600m above sea level, what is the climiate like there during day and night time in the summer season. Is it freezing cold at nights too?

Summer? What summer? There is summer here? :) I am sitting in my apartment with my laptop on my lap keeping me warm! The last couple mornings you could see your breath but it went up to about 70 and then poured rain by 6 pm. The average temperature year round is like 67 deg. F. Now, you go an hour outside of the city to hot country and it is in the 80s and then 90s. But Bogota is basically cool. No AC or heat in most apartments....use an extra blanket. So bring a jacket. People do wear scarves and gloves in the morning Also need an umbrella. Hope this helps!

You get all seasons in one day in Bogota!!! Freezing at night and the latter throughout the day. Excellant city just bring all types of clothing making sure you have a good heavy jumper and a warm jacket!!! Enjoy.......
