Bogota weather

What is typical Bogota weather? Do you get blue skies every week? Sunny days? I already know its kind of chilly. I may be moving to Colombia, so I must look before I leap. Gracias, amigos & amigas.

bogota weather.... one of the worlds least known phenomenon's, infact the least known of all is the meteorological changes of Santa Fé de Bogota.
it all started about half a century ago.........
cut a long story short, bogota weather is unpredictable, their are windy periods, rainy periods, dry periods, etc.
best advice to anyone going to Bogota:
by yourself a cheap umbrella!

Bogota is a fantastic city, enjoy.

Bogota As you know the city is 2,600 meters above sea level (about 8,000 ft) so the weather is cool/cold all the time.
The driest and less cloudy time of the year is from mid december to early February, the rest of the year is a mixture of rain, sunny skies, cold winds.
At night it´s always cold and windy.

I think mild would be the best word to describe Bogota weather during the day, and it can even get pretty warm if the sun is shining... but yes, cool at night and occasionally downright cold. There are some rainy seasons and some dry ones, but there isn't really a reliable pattern.

I have to second Colombia Board...but I think the weather is fairly predictable. The temperature hardly ever varies much. The day time temperature is almost always between 65 and 70 degrees. And the night time temp between the mid to high 40's....once in a while staying in the low 50's. How much more predictable can you get than that?

Also, while the sun comes through here and there, it does not happen a lot. It is quite common for the sun to be around at sunrise, and then from noon on, it gets more cloudy (and rainy) as the day progresses.Nights can really be annoyingly cold and rainy.

Honestly, if you are going to move to Colombia, and weather is important to you, Medellin would be a much better city to live in. It's not too hot, nor not too cold. While Bogota is my favorite in gerneral, (I love Bogota)Medellin is a beautiful city that you should consider.....

gracias! Gracias amigas and amigos! Bogota sounds like a fun place to visit, but because of the weather I will restrict my search to Medellin, Cali, and ... well, what about Bucaramanga? Sunny place?

Weather Bogota can make London look like sunny Florida, so not your best bet in that sense. Bucaramanga is nice and sunny.

Try Pereira and from there you can jump around to other towns and cities in the coffee region. Plus it's only a few hours from both Cali and Medellin.
