If that's for a round trip, it's probably the nest that you will be able to do. I'm on hold for my December trip and I only see fares in the $1,100 dollar range. If I could find a fare like that one, I'd risk it given the uncertainty of exactly when I can fly. Maybe I should check out TACA.

Yeah I saw one flight on the 14th for 387 and one on the 21st for 1,100.
If you book on site the fairs change very quick but are way lower then expedia.
But Ive flown Taca like 10 times and they have lost my bags 5 times.
But Im only going two days so I will carry on only

The two WORST flight the wife and I ever had were on TACA-never again! Lost baggage, uncaring employees, never on time, several mechanical problem one of which involved an emergency return to Panama City along with an overnight stay. The needed part and mechanic to install it had to come from New York City, for God's sake.

Sounds like a good fare.. I've had good and BAD experiences with TACA... I know AA is expensive out of BOG for those days, but flying out of MDE on AA is $450. or so R/T....... And you fly direct without the Problems... Just a thought......... Good luck..........

ty I need to go out of Bogota as I live in Guajira and take a company plane for free to Bogota.
Gator, I hear what you saying. I recently live in Honduras and Taca was basically your only choice for the West coast and I had some crazy situtions. Once I was on a commuter flight with 5 people and they lost my bags

Gator, the rotten luck you had with Taca sounds like an apt description of the luck I had using Avianca. For me that(avianca) is the worst Airline known to man or beast,,,

We, now, try to use COPA as much as possible. The plane switch in Panama City is not that inconvenient.

I use American. They have convenient flights and non-stop flights to Cali.

Miami Mike have you used Avianca after Synergy Group bought out Avianca.......Since the new ownership I have had no problems on Avianca on every flight..I am now Executive Platino with there Avianca Plus program and use the miles for vacations with my wife..which comes in handy too with the Avianca Plus Program since Bogota is the hub every easy to use miles to fly internationally..to go on vacation..

OnePass you need to fly to Panama to use miles internationally or fly AeroRepublic to use miles locally and also to get to MDE you need to go thru Panama no direct flights.
American you need to fly to Miami to use miles or you use the miles with LAN but need to fly to Quito,Lima.or Santiago to fly international on miles..from MDE...

PD--it would not matter to me if the Pope bought Avianca! I used them 2-3 times in the past and had a Bum Trip every time. Lost Luggage, late departures & Arrivals,Disorgainzed Stewardesses, Ticketcounter personnel ect. There will never be another time. As my Avatar Figure GW Bush crowed ""There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." —Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002

So no more Avianca in this Lifetime...

Miamimike, your obsession with GW is breathtaking. The topic / subject doesn't matter; you somehow find a way to bring him into the topic. Freaking hilarious. If there was a post on neutering cats, you would somehow find a way to tie it into a GW story.
