Bogota meeting places

I am flying directly into Bogota to meet my girlfriend, who will be flying in from Cartagena. Problem is, neither of us have ever been to Bogota. I thought maybe there would be nearby hotels with a bar/lounge, or maybe a restaurant type deal, where any taxi driver is sure to know, that is nearby the airport, that I can suggest to her as a meeting place. We will be meeting on a Saturday night around 10:30 PM. I'm looking for places that are big and obvious, but not so big that I would never be able to find her.

How about the hotel? If she can't meet you at the airport (my first choice), then make a reservation under both your names at a hotel.

I've done this a couple of times and it works everytime. Just tell the front desk at the hotel what's going on: you are making the reservationa but she will be arriving before you. If the hotel clerk balks, try another hotel.

what kind of ambiance are you looking for? are you staying here in bogota (if so, where?), or just meeting with her for a few hours and then flying off?

meteoro Just something cozy. Like a coffee shop would be ideal. If nothing like that is available, or questionable when I ask the taxi driver to take me there, then any other suggestions you might have would be very much appreciated. An alternate idea would be, since my flight arrives an hour and a half before hers, would be to just loiter there at the airport waiting for her flight to get in. But I don't know if that would be possible.

Ohhh, you're arriving first.... Then I'd just wait in the airport. Things are open there until midnight so you could just get a cup of coffee and wait by the exit.

Coming out of International Arrivals, you'll have to walk around to the terminal entrance, but it's not that far (I think it's right next door).

Just make sure you know which terminal her flight is arriving from: If it's on Avianca, she'll probably arrive in the Puente Aerea; Aero Republica, arrives in the main terminal.

Then you can share the same cab.

Better at the airport then... you have some good coffee shops like Juan Valdez, OMA, etc. plus restaurants and other stuff on the second floor.

Yes your best option is the airport If your fly arrives 1 hour and half before hers you still have to go through immigrations and customs and that may take a while if there are a lot of other flights arriving.

As Crazy4Cali already told you , make sure she checks if she arrives to El Dorado or to the PUente Aereo, and in both cases you can agree to either meet at the exit of national flights, or at a Omas or Juan Valdes (both of those terminals have one).

Good luck!!!!!
