Andino and Sofitel Victoria are both good within walking distance of restaurants, bars, etc, Andino caters a lot to US Marines (so loud and annoying at times) so your pick. Tequendama is in downtown, close to all the city museums, quite a few very trendy restaurants in the area but not much of walking area after 9 or 10 p.m.

Since the Tequendama is an area that is not safe to travel by foot after 9 PM......(no where to go near there either) I would pick one of the other 3 hotels. At night, you want to be on the North side, and not in the central area. Anything that you may want to see in the central area...(and there is a lot) you should do during the day. At night....stay North.

juanalejo says on Feb 25, 2007, 17:08: Macarena - Tequendama Actually there is quite a few very, very good restaurants in the area and it has become a very trendy area to go out to. And that includes Leo Cocina y Cava which is just across the street from Tequendama and which was voted by Conde Nast Traveller magazine as one of the top 80 restaurants in the world last year.

Gomezman5 says on Feb 25, 2007, 19:21: i agree....by day of course!! I am not suggesting theat there is not good eateries and places to go during the day. Not at all. In fact, you cannot have a complete visit to Bogota without vising Oro, Monserate (weather permitting), Candalaria, and relatated. But at night, you belong on the north side. You don't want to deal with having to go back to the centro after you're done with your night time fun. Plus you may want to take a walk around at night...catch the cool sweet andean smelling air. Where would you reccomend a tourist walking at night around the Tequendama? People who live in Bogota have no reason or desire to walk around there at night. Do you think a tourist would?

huskie says on Feb 26, 2007, 09:38: MR RUBITO you are always thinking cheap....If I am reading tommyesq73's question correctly, he is asking for upscale hotels, and not cheap areas of the city. My recommendation, Sofitel Victoria Regia, or Andino Royal, well located, near malls, trendy shops and restaurants. Man Tequila says on Feb 26, 2007, 22:15: Once when I went to Bogota I stayed at the Hotel Morrison. My reservation got screwed up and I spent the first night at the Andino Royal instead. It's a nice hotel, but Hotel Morrison was nicer and, at that time, better value. Lostgringo says on Feb 28, 2007, 13:30: Hotels and places to stay I know you mentioned hotels but there are other places to stay that are comfortable, safe and as nice as a hotel. Our place is a 5 minute walk from the largest Mall in Colombia. It is 15 minute walk another very nice mall call Salitre Plaza. Unfortunately we are totally booked at this time.
