Bogota hotel: Dona Flor's vs. Heltestelar's de La Feria

I'm trying to decide between these for my next Bogota trip, and the info posted here is where I learned of either so thanks. Dona Flor quoted me 110.000 and HdLF has a 157.000 for double special up at their site - so price is close but still significantly different (given it's a 5 night stay). Can anyone have info/experiences to share to help me decide, specific to the following:

Both are close to the Embassy, HdLF a little further but is it a "friendly/easy" walk (safe, no difficult terrain, etc.)?

Is either much closer to, or much further from, a good cybercafe? a market or supermarket? I know I'll need multiple trips daily to these types of places so I'd prefer to walk vs. taxi.

I looks like HdLF includes airport transfer in its rate. For either CLO or MDE this would add to over 80.000 rt, nice but not huge... approximately what would taxi in Bogota run?

Any stories you can share from your stays at either would be nice, thanks.

Thanks!

hdlf vs dona flor I havent stay at Dona Flor but I heard very good things about it from other visa aplicants, its specially good if you dont know much people in the city because it seems people there is very emotionally supportive.

I stayed in the Hotel de la Feria around 3 or 4 years ago for a week, and I really liked it, very nice, great breakfast buffet (at that time), so neat, great service, great location... etc. Its plus (in my opinion) is that you have more privacy, my husband and I are really protective of our privacy so for us that is a very important "+".

Yes, both Dona Flor (I heard) and HdLF are close to the embassy, the walk is nice ans safe.

I dont know about supermarkets or cyber cafes close to it, but they are all around bogota so I bet you can find one (or many) whitin a very confortable distance, and also remember we colombians have a lot of tiendas all around so just in the remote case there isnt a supermarket you may be able to find some of the stuff you want at the closest tienda.

The taxi ride from the airport to any of those hotels shouldnt cost you more than 20000, 30000 the most... But I think is going to be a lot less than that. In the airport you tell them where are you going and they will give you a piece of paper with the amount you are supose to pay, that way you wont have any danger that the taxi driver will charge you more.

Enjoy your trip

Dona Flor I didn't stay there but my wife did and she loved it. Ms. Flora was great and had someone pick her at the airport. She met some people that she still stays in contact with today. Ms. Flor was very very nice and overall it would probably been worth it even if it was more expensive than the hotel. She walked to the embassy with people she met etc.. Go with Don Flor.

chkout hotel apartsuite 85.. it's in Zona Rosa, SUITE(ie Embassy Suite in USA) for $100k/night or so(incl FREE breakfast AND internet IN the HOTEL). Taxi cost fr Airport to Hotel is about 12-15k peso and 20-30 mins. You'll have to do a google in PBH(hotel Bogota) on the exact address and phone number. They have person that speak english working there.
