I had a flash of inspiration for those seeking a slightly off-beat cool gift idea for people living in Bogota:
A really unique umbrella. Functional, artsyish, fashion-ish. Get an artprint, or some cool transparent one.

If one has the luxury of not being out, or ducking into a shop for the strongest 30 mins or so, great. But I have heard my relatives complain about it (since clearly for residents life must go on).
