1. How much for return air fare from Bogota to Cali when buying ticket in Colombia?

And which airline?

2. How long is the bus trip from Bogota to Cali?

Thanks

Google is an excellent tool. I know that but I need someone who has the experience. It would cost me £200 (= US $320 or $660,000 return if I book from travel agency!!!

But thanks for the information

The Bus can run anywhere from 8-10hrs depending on speed of the driver, weather and traffic..

When you get to Colombia, buy your ticket. Unless you have a Colombia debit card or credit card, then you can buy off the website. I purchased round trip, Cali-Bogota-Cali for 75 USD last week.

Super Promotional= More promotional then regular promotional. Very cheap. Restricted.
Promotional= The best prices, permanent officer, limited time to make purchase...these are the characteristics you want when your trip is fully planned and firm.
Flexible= You need flexibility to change itinerary without incurring in any additional charges. More $$$
Executive= First Class. Even more $$$$

Like buying an economy class (too many restrictions to list here) vs fully refundable/changeable.

Aires will take your money online. No problems. Good promotional deals.
Avianca will take your money online, plus hefty "gringo tax 50-200%"
Aero Republica. No online purchases.

No need to go to travel agencies. The airlines have offices in all major cities and airports. Avianca won't gringo tax you in-country.

Too many variables. Like desires, departure dates/times, economics, flexibility, promotion(s) etc.. Like herding cats. You need to do some comparative shopping.

viajero,

Yes, you right about AeroRep. However, relatively very few "tourists" have access to Colombian accounts.

I've purchased tickets from Avianca with my Gringo card(s), in person, at various Avianca centers in BOG/CTG and only have been charged the "local" rate every time. My experience has been the "Avianca tax" comes to play only when tix are purchased outside Colombian borders with non-Colombian funds/credit.

I think the call center/US card angle has been tried by others here on PBH with unsuccessful results.
