This is when it first started looking out my back window. It´s pretty dark because of my crappy cybershot camera so I don´t know if you can see it too well. It was mostly smoke.

nine inch nails says on Dec 16, 2008, 11:16:

What caused it? Can you describe it in words?

mranderson says on Dec 16, 2008, 11:30:

I don´t know what caused it. I was watching tv when I heard what sounded like a building collapsing. I felt some vibration in my apartment and ran to the window.

Maybe the fire had been going a little while and a pallet rack or something of that sort collapsed in the warehouse. After that I started hearing explosions and the fire slowly spread to another warehouse, or another part.

I´m assuming there were a lot of tanks...gasses or chemicals, I don´t know. Because there were a lot of explosions. My neighbor told me the warehouses were for fabric.

If warehouses and not sprinklered properly with combustible materials (plasticos, fabric, chemicals etc) stacked on top of one another a recipe for disaster.

I was told workers at a factory that were mad at not being paid started it.

Amelissa is the catalog company that sells all kind of stuff - distribution like Avon in the US. My GF delivered a large order on Friday of mostly womens and kids clothes and all burned - they made a large order on Monday to replace the order on Friday and wanted it in 3 days (in their dreams).
