Which city and school would you recommend? Ive already seen nuevalengua and its a bit pricey.
Also, which city if better in terms or things to do, scenery, nightlife, safety, etc?

Peter (Moderator) says on Aug 23, 2007, 03:39: Studying is mostly about practice, and the problem in Bogota is: too many foreigners. So in that sense Medellin's better. But Bogota definitely has the party edge, although Medellin's fine too. Poor but snappy 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Peter (Moderator) says on Aug 23, 2007, 03:41: Safety, both cities are similar (Medellin might be somewhat safer), nightlife: Bogota has more. Just try visiting them both and see how you feel. Poor but snappy 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Heidisch says on Aug 23, 2007, 05:45: Bogota is way better for learning spanish than Medellin because of the multicultural invironment .In Bogota, you will be able to hear diferent accents from diferent regions. Speaking about safety, i have lived both in Medellin and in Bogota for long periods of time so, in my opinion Bogota is safer than Medellin. The night life is better although medellin's night life is really good too, there's more variety here in Bogota. Learning spanish, i would sugest you to take some private classes, BTW.. I teach both English and Spanish, so if you are interested just let me know.

rmykita says on Aug 23, 2007, 11:12: Lived in both, stayed in Bogota. Still here, still learning. The international community is not significant in either city. And believable me, a critical factor in having the guts to fully learn the language (years), is having people who speak your language and you have been through it by your side. I tried Medellin and was lonely within 3 months. Bogota now for over a year.. Highly recommended...
