I was in Cartegena and the beaches were very polluted, which is sad but I understand why. Where are the best beaches? Is the Atlantic or Pacific Coast better?

Gomezman5 says on May 7, 2005, 21:19: Kernow....you forgot Playa llanera...as Venezuela seperates further away from Colombia, the beach front is enlarging. It is the hope of many that FARC forces will be caught off guard and thus fall into the newly created body of water

rona says on May 17, 2005, 12:08: Cartagena Beaches The beaches in Cartagena like BocaGrande are polluted. This is because when it rains, the city's sewer system backs up and overflows into the bays near the beaches of BocaGrande, el Laguito and parts of CastilloGrande.

DMA1974 says on Jun 3, 2005, 12:42: Tolu My fiance lived in Medellin until 1995. I have only left the states one time to Canada but have lived in Detroit. I have seen a lot of crime but nothing like I see about Medellin. Anyway, he wants to visit Medellin and get married in Tolu. Typical person I am, I am checking on-line about Tolu. But I cannot find anything about the beaches, hotels, etc. I want to make him happy but at the same time I want the safety that comes from tourist spots. Is Tolu a good selection? Our selection must be close to Medellin. If Tolu is beautiful, do you know any sights to visit where I can see this? All I have found is sites telling the best ways to travel and only travel in the daytime, never say you are an American, etc. Getting freaked out.
