Vivi118: Questions That's a big difference. It doesn't really look like the same person even. How long ago did you have the surgery? I've also been looking into having liposuction in my abdomen area and I'm still doing my research. I know you gave your doctor's information in Bogota, but I'm looking at plastic surgeons in Cartagena or Baranquilla. Do you know of any? I have questions about where your incisions were made for the liposuction. Did your plastic surgeon make the incisions through your naval and lower back? How big are they and are they very visible? How long did it take for you to be completely recovered? And were you under general anesthesia for the procedure? I'm sorry if this is repetitive, but thank you for reposting your pictures. You look fabulous.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! Woreska, Unfortunately, I don't know of any docs in Barranquilla, but I belong to a forum that was created by a plastic surgery patient for patients to lend support and help each other research. They can post questions and if any other member has had an expirience with the question that you are asking, they will definately post answers. I know there is one girl on the board that is going to Cartagena in Feb 2007. She is going to Dr. Henriquez and she might be able to help you by sharing her research with you. The site is www.plasticsurgeryjourneys.com
I am on that board as Chiki75 (my nickname). Any way best wishes on your research and your surgery. Be sure to get the surgeon's credentials and to try to speak to people that have had surgery with him/her.

Again best of luck to you!
Vivi

You were prettier before the surgery...when you were smiling...

As for dissuading other surgery hopefuls, just know that the good men go to Colombia because of the beautiful 'natural order of things' - the land, the family, the women. They have all seen the shortcuts to beauty and the ease of making money for change, and I assure you that those who respected this life stayed in Orange County and NYC. You will never get those men again after making a decision like this...you are definitely not the same person. I dare say you completely threw away the essential spirit Colombia in one selfish act.

Embarassing, but I wish you better luck.

Saludos,

Ryan

And that's a pretty shitty thing to say there, Ryan, old boy....must be nice to live such an idyllic life where you hang out with the "good men" and appreciate the "natural order of things". Hey Vivi, do what you want to do....I sure as hell do not see your surgery as a "selfish act" (whatever that means.... ;)) !!!

The Point I agree that she should do what she likes - but it is so much easier for us to recognize what hurts others than what hurts oneself. I am convinced that plastic surgery, although giving confidence, is only a temporary pill for some serious sadness and insecurity! Maybe there is disagreement here.

It was a selfish act because most other people, as I have seen, roll their eyes at such a ridiculous expense. Look no further than other posts on this forum to find a better way to spend that money...and surprisingly, you can gain superficial confidence that way, too. Again, the quick fix - good people recognize it and usually resent it, I think. As for speaking for all American men, I cannot pretend to - more importantly, I cannot speak for the type of man that this woman wants. But I can tell you, confidently, that many men do NOT like real confidence in women. Confident women sometimes don't need men at all - we are immasculated by that. In fact, who do you think goes to Colombia looking for women? Trust me, it is the American men who are disillusioned with American women who are too preocuppied with themselves (confidence, I suppose) to satisfy the men. To be fair, I feel like one of these men at times. Regardless, the point is this:

Men want attention from women. Women want attention from men. You just made it impossible for a man to feel like he has enough attention from you because you bet on grabbing the attention of everyone. Ever wonder why Hollywood relationships don't last....It is not because Tom Cruise can have any woman he wants. It is because these people are insecure, unconfident, and constantly worried/assuming that their man/woman is cheating. You made yourself look like a cheater who wants attention. Which is exactly what you are.

I have this way of words that can be sometimes offensive...I hope this fuels a good fire...

Before Passing Judgement on those contemplating Plastic Surgery you should find out exactly why they they want it. It could be medically necessaary such is the case of a friend of mine who recently underwent surgery for breast cancer. Others(males) may have it done for example, to decrease the incidence of Adult Onset Diabetes. In studies it has been shown that males(40+) who have excess body fat in the abdominal area are at risk for developing Diabetes(adult onset type) so they benefit from abdominal liposuction. They also reduce their risk of heart disease at the same time. Now Plastic surgery simply for Vanity, thats another issue for another time and place......

I think I've figured you out Mr You are one of these guys that goes to Colombia to find a servant wife. One that will cook, clean, have your babies and cater to your every need, meanwhile putting her needs aside. Well Ryan you are in the 20th century now, and if this is what you classify as the "natural" then you need surgery of the brain.
I think you are 100% wrong about men not liking a woman with confidence. A man that lacks confidence and self esteem will look for their equal counterpart and this will be a disaster of a relationship. I have always been confident, and not because of my exterior apperance, but rather because of what I have to offer from the inside. I am intelligent, caring and very giving of myself. Yes the plastic surgery made be feel better about my external apperance, but in no way has it affected who I am and will always be.
Now about this being a selfish act, you make no sense what so ever, because, I am spending my own money to do what I choose. If that was the case then you are selfish by spending money on trips to Colombia to meet there so called "natural" women. By the way have you found one yet? I know we Colombian women like to that care of our men, but we also liked to be treated like princesses and we don't take any sh!t.
It seems to me that you are judmental a closed minded. I hope that someday you realize that you can't judge a book by it's cover.

I also assumed that if you removed the abdominal fat via surgery that it would reduce onset of diabetes. However, I read somewhere that liposuction would not significantly reduce the risk. I wonder if that was just propaganda and if indeed there is evidence the procedure would help. Do you have and information on the results?

Aztec, There's a Lot of Studies out there if you google-here's ' but one article. I am somewhat confused on your question-how would you extract the Fat Cells(adipose) unless you had them sucked out by Liposuction and then in localized areas such as the Gut? There really isn't any other Surgically/medically feasable method for this Fat removal. Just the mechanical act of Liposuction won't reduce the risk, you have to get the fat cells out-How else would it be possible to do this? You cannot diet away fat cells, wash them away with water or exercise belts ect. Diets only shrink Fat Cells(they don't disappear only get smaller), that's why when a person resumes a diet high in Calories he/she gets fat in the Belly again. They can only be permenently removed via Lipo while a person is alive. Fat Cells (adipose) are deposited by birth genetically so if your Mom or Dad has belly fat your almost guarenteed to have fat cells there also. Fat cells don't migrate BTW. I have gutted, skinned and butchered maybe 25 Pa whitetail Deer before hard winter had set in(deer put on a lot of belly fat over the summer to tide them over in the winter) and this excess whitish belly fat is evident when you remove the hide of course by the that time(rigor mortis) the Belly fat has solidified and you can slice it away in layers or pull it off in big pieces.I use the deer only as one example as I am very familiar with Deer anatomy though I observed the same in other Mammals in Pre-Med Anatomy&Lab I studied and dissected at Penn State University. While the Deer of course is not the same as our anatomy this Fat deposit has similarities.

Aztec, If you lower your weight overall through Lipo of course you would lower your risk of Heart Disease. a friend of mine here in Miami had Lipo(bogota) on her stomach but months increased her Caloric Intake. While she did NOT get fat in the stomach where the fat Cells were removed, all the new weight gained went to her Butt. You have to regulate your calories irregardless Lipo isn't a systemic Cureall for all future weight gain, only in localized areas.

Vivi1118 Vivi, you look smokin' hot, don't worry about what anyone says, especially jerks like what's-his-name. I originally was planning on just getting my eyelids done until I read about lipo/tummy tucks (felt a little taboo-ish me being a guy and all) and saw some photos (including yours, which rid me of the taboo :) ). I am planning on going to Colombia soon and would like to know, if you don't mind, how much you paid for the procedures (lipo and tummy tuck)? Just trying to figure out a ballpark cost. Mine can wait until later, but I am seriously thinking about getting the procedure for my sister, a mother of 2, during my trip... thanks for your help.

Hi guys Aztec coke and coffee, and Poco, thanks for such sweet compliments. About maintaining my new figure, I have been very dedicated to a healthy diet and exercise. This past July was one year since my surgery! and so far so good.
Coke and Coffee,
I paid $4500 for full body lipo and a tummy tuck with muscle repair. If you are interested in doctor Morales, you can email him to see if he gives you a good price. If you need to contact me for any other questions, you can email me at vivim75 at gmail.com
Big hugs,

I am completely happy with my LATINA hips and I don't have any cellulite.
Maybe you need to pay a visit to an eye doctor and a brain surgeon.

Much love,

miguel - right - michael el maricon quiza..... well thanks for your two pennies worth michael but let me clarify..
firstly you should read the whole post i made about plastic surgery and continue to believe in that it is a waste of money especially in this instance. why cant people be satisfied with the damn body god gave them....too much obsession especially in europe, the UK and the US on altering body form...even girls in late teens and early twenties are having 'minor' surgery because of the peer pressure and cos thats what the magazines, tv and movie people say what u have to look like. what happened to individuality because all the girls /women who are having this done are beginning to look like clones. i havent got anything against surgery if your born with a serious defect or have been injured or had an accident anyway.

too many mujeres are trying to look like mutton dressed up as lamb and it doesnt suit them....

Yes, but it is not your decision with regards to HER Body, right, gringo in London, so if you don’t care for it, it is no concern of yours or anyone elses what she does to her body. Or are you arrogant enough to claim decision-making rights to the bodies of others? And to criticize other people?

“y ultimo, i use juanes en londres which is not john from the UK you muppet but john in london cos i like juanes music ok..... J in L

Last time i looked at a map, London was still located in the UK. Google search it if you have any doubts.

Yup, you proved my point……me llamo=masculino/me llama=feminino……..you definitely wasted your time and money on your lessons….that is very elementary stuff. I do not believe that any of the gringos on this site would have made that stupid of a mistake.....so your self-evaluation of your spanish-speaking abilities are not based on your track record. sorry to inform you.

Typical gringo, learns the bad words first……only describing your family and roots, i would imagine...maybe a Freudian Slip.... Your command of the Spanish language is impressive. My Siberian Husky probably knows more Spanish than you and he didn’t waste all that money!

Thanks for sharing though, now you can go home and pout, Juanes en su mente……welcome to PBH, though!

Just my opinion...

She looks great.
The smarter you are, the more intimidated you are. Fortunately I found one that viewed intelligence and confidence as an erotic necessity (he would also support me in my decision to have cosmetic surgery if I thought my life or wellbeing would be significantly improved by it. HE wouldn't think I was shallow or wasting my money (if my reasons were valid). Such men are rare though, especially in North America. Which is why of course emotionally crippled men come down here.

Natural beauty in colombia? Well, there are many women here who reach for a bottle of hair bleach, wax and pluck their body hair within an inch of their lives, and yes, go under the knife.

Its not necessarily a waste of money. I'm sorry to say that I wish I lived in a society that accepted me for my intelligence and capabilities first and didn't care about my size. This just isn't the case. At interviews, the chubby are discriminated against because (even if genetics as a lot to do with how they look), they are percieved as being lazy and indulgent. You forget its hard for you to get employment as a woman if you have excess body fat. I would consider liposuction on that ground alone.

Other reasons for having plastic surgery may include health. I know someone with a slipped disc and cant excercise, so she's considering liposuction on her stomach and bum to relieve pressure on her spine. I've met women who had problems with their jaws, teeth noses or faces whose lives were destroyed because of the psychological problems: cosmetic surgery literally changed their lives.

She looks good and is obviously happy with her result. Whether you are gordita, or not, its still very hard to find a good man.

Perhaps male posters here should worry more about becoming a really great man and get over their problems with confident women. If only they tried one, they would realise how much better it was to be someone who isn't neurotic and insecure. Confidence is sexy, to a real man.

She looks great and is obviously happy with the results. Let it go.
