Worena says on Jul 19, 2006, 23:20: Vivi118: Questions That's a big difference. It doesn't really look like the same person even. How long ago did you have the surgery? I've also been looking into having liposuction in my abdomen area and I'm still doing my research. I know you gave your doctor's information in Bogota, but I'm looking at plastic surgeons in Cartagena or Baranquilla. Do you know of any? I have questions about where your incisions were made for the liposuction. Did your plastic surgeon make the incisions through your naval and lower back? How big are they and are they very visible? How long did it take for you to be completely recovered? And were you under general anesthesia for the procedure? I'm sorry if this is repetitive, but thank you for reposting your pictures. You look fabulous.

vivi1118 says on Jul 20, 2006, 14:51: Thanks for the compliments everyone! Woreska, Unfortunately, I don't know of any docs in Barranquilla, but I belong to a forum that was created by a plastic surgery patient for patients to lend support and help each other research. They can post questions and if any other member has had an expirience with the question that you are asking, they will definately post answers. I know there is one girl on the board that is going to Cartagena in Feb 2007. She is going to Dr. Henriquez and she might be able to help you by sharing her research with you. miamimike says on Jul 27, 2006, 00:13: Before Passing Judgement on those contemplating Plastic Surgery you should find out exactly why they they want it. It could be medically necessaary such is the case of a friend of mine who recently underwent surgery for breast cancer. Others(males) may have it done for example, to decrease the incidence of Adult Onset Diabetes. In studies it has been shown that males(40+) who have excess body fat in the abdominal area are at risk for developing Diabetes(adult onset type) so they benefit from abdominal liposuction. They also reduce their risk of heart disease at the same time. Now Plastic surgery simply for Vanity, thats another issue for another time and place...... "Wait a minute. What did you just say? No matter what changes I've made to my exterior, in no way has this changed who I am and always will be. Sencodly, you are fool to think that I did this to attract a man. I found my man 11 years ago and I am still happily married to that same man. miamimike says on Aug 2, 2006, 05:25: Aztec, There's a Lot of Studies out there if you google-here's ' but one article. I am somewhat confused on your question-how would you extract the Fat Cells(adipose) unless you had them sucked out by Liposuction and then in localized areas such as the Gut? There really isn't any other Surgically/medically feasable method for this Fat removal. Just the mechanical act of Liposuction won't reduce the risk, you have to get the fat cells out-How else would it be possible to do this? You cannot diet away fat cells, wash them away with water or exercise belts ect. Diets only shrink Fat Cells(they don't disappear only get smaller), that's why when a person resumes a diet high in Calories he/she gets fat in the Belly again. They can only be permenently removed via Lipo while a person is alive. Fat Cells (adipose) are deposited by birth genetically so if your Mom or Dad has belly fat your almost guarenteed to have fat cells there also. Fat cells don't migrate BTW. I have gutted, skinned and butchered maybe 25 Pa whitetail Deer before hard winter had set in(deer put on a lot of belly fat over the summer to tide them over in the winter) and this excess whitish belly fat is evident when you remove the hide of course by the that time(rigor mortis) the Belly fat has solidified and you can slice it away in layers or pull it off in big pieces.I use the deer only as one example as I am very familiar with Deer anatomy though I observed the same in other Mammals in Pre-Med Anatomy&Lab I studied and dissected at Penn State University. While the Deer of course is not the same as our anatomy this Fat deposit has similarities. "Wait a minute. What did you just say? You're predicting $4-a-gallon gas? That's interesting. I hadn't heard that." -- Feb. 28, 2008 --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
|
aztec says on Aug 2, 2006, 08:30: Thanks miamimike... ...for the link. I actually fantasized once about having the Fat Cells(adipose) removed via Liposuction. Thought it would lower the risk of heart problem but not sure any more. In any case maybe willpower regarding diet and exercise is a better option.

miamimike says on Aug 2, 2006, 12:30: Aztec, If you lower your weight overall through Lipo of course you would lower your risk of Heart Disease. a friend of mine here in Miami had Lipo(bogota) on her stomach but months increased her Caloric Intake. While she did NOT get fat in the stomach where the fat Cells were removed, all the new weight gained went to her Butt. You have to regulate your calories irregardless Lipo isn't a systemic Cureall for all future weight gain, only in localized areas. "Wait a minute. What did you just say? I am planning on going to Colombia soon and would like to know, if you don't mind, how much you paid for the procedures (lipo and tummy tuck)? Just trying to figure out a ballpark cost.
