Beautiful images of Colombia.

Some of these were impossible to visit until not long ago due to the guerrila invasion.
Thanks President Urive!

It's common curiosity to link to articles that are cut & pasted from another author and the same etiquette applies to photographs - it's nice to know the source, IF possible. It was a simple question, no big deal.

JAJA concrete info? We trained and supplied your troops who provided that security. Did you not hear about it?

See you know helping these Colombians is a complete waiste of time. Now Chavez is all wanting war and I suppose American lives will be lost to help an ungreatful lot of people. We should let them stand on their own, fight their own war and do nothing to help them. Seems that is how they see things whenever I ask so why not? We can save a lot of money. Not to mention pain for nothing. The three contractors kidnapped for 6 years? That means nothing that they were hear helping the Colombian people when that happend. Means nothing to them.

Do they deserrve all the credit NO? But some recognition when asked would be nice? Never happens.

Yes well they were spying on positions of the FARC. You know the people who kidnap you when you go and see your sites. But yes I knew that no one would be big enough to just acknowledge with a simple "thanks for the help friend."

I was at a Thanksgiving dinner one time where some Colombians came and thanked the people serving here who were at the dinner. I thought that was very nice, as someone who has served and served in Colombia it is appreciated I can tell you.

Anyway I got an answer to my question so now continue with your beautiful Colombia thread, don't give a thought to the people who made it possible.

Lisa Zee says on Nov 10, 2009, 11:09:

Thanks for the info.
I just wanted to thank the president of Colombia for making it possible that we can go and see all these beautiful places that God created in our dear Colombia. I am sorry, it did not cross my mined to thank the USA. I am not being sarcastic, I just don't think of thanking the USA every time I have a cup of coffee, or when I am I Colombia and I drive to my finca safely.

I do thank USA for the nice life I can have here in this great land called Estados Unidos! :)

0 funny, 0 helpful.

MitchAlvarez says on Nov 10, 2009, 11:15:

oenforyourmillion.... take it easy man. enjoy the thread!! we all give thank to the usa and we should. but there is one man in colombia fighting wars with everyone and getting atacked from all areas and he keeps battling all these pigs. so true colombians always find a way to include uribe in all of our conversations because we are so thankful for his determination. This determination includes his very good relationship with GW and now Obama.

0 funny, 1 helpful.

oneforyourmillion says on Nov 10, 2009, 12:06:

Well I asked you point blank if you thought that Plan Colombia or the US had anything to do with that security and you said. Nope. I understand that you did not include it innitially but I was curious to your response if I asked. Which is about the way most Colombians would respond. I got news for all of you it would never have happened if Uribe had not stepped up and did what he did and also it never would have happened if the US had not given him the resources. It just took more than Uribe wanting to do it was how and it was where to get the money? But anyway I am not asking for a thnk you really but I don't appreciate the hard work and sacrifice of many in the states for Colombia going unrecognised or taken for granted.

Colombia is an outpost of freedom in SA and a friend to the US. Yes Mitch and a lot of US taxpayers money.....

I really do enjoy the pictures. I thanked you for them and beleive it or not made a list to visit each one of the places in the photos. So that will be fun to do while it is still possible.

So thanks for the lovely fotos they truly are spectacular and Colombia is a much more diverse country than people realize. The photos really show that.
