Barranquilla or Medellin?

I don’t like one bit the way USA is heading, everything us bleeding heart liberals worked so hard for in the 60’s is going down the drain. They've found hanging nooses (symbols of hatred) and swastikas in one of the most prestigious university in USA, Columbia University, located 10 blocks from where I reside in the most liberal, diverse city in the world. In other states ( red states) this is no big deal, is the norm BUT NOT in NEW YORK FOKIN CITY
I’M OUT!!!
Ok, I could leave within months instead of waiting years for retirement but that would only be possible if I move to Medellin, Envigado to be exact.
My wify has a brand new fully paid for apt; all I have to do is pagar por servicio and maintenance. But, what does a modefoque like me who loves the beach, noise, chaos, heat, dancing, laughter, lots of people and traffic gonna do in the middle of the jungles and mountains.
I’m not trying to be a regionalistic prick here; I really question how happy I’ll be living there. I doubt I’ll get any free cachaca chucha , they can’t stand dark costeños.
Where would I go on weekends, parque Lleras and then where?
Jefe Cafétaria? To see how they make fokin coffee, then what? is that it?
If you go outta city limits, them FARC modefouqes will take my car and leave me stranded in the middle of the fokin jungle. Where do people go? Will I be stuck in that city?
While in Barranquilla, I have family all over the fokin place, parties and clubs all over that noisy, congested chaotic curramba. One weekend I’ll head to Cartagena, just one hour away or Santa Marta, Parque Tyrona also one lousy hour away. Drive up and down the safe Caribbean coast to Rihoacha or Cobeñas
The traveling possibilities are endless.
Don’t know what the fok to do, which city is best for me? I welcome all comments from cachacos.
I already know why gringos love Medellin, for the endless free chucha.
Thank you!!

Polls show that most Americans agree with you. I think nearly 80% said the country was headed in the wrong direction. I think we're about to see some big changes in the near future. I just wish we'd see Cheney swinging from a pole like Mussolini.

There is no such thing as free chucha. One way or another you are going to pay.

If 80% of Americans don't like something, they will change it. But I am sure that, no matter how things change UC, you won't like them.

My guess is that it would be much tougher to be black in Medellin than in NYC.

Tom, I already know I’m not gonna have cachaca girls give me friendly smiles as I walk up and down those fokin hills. I know I’m not gonna get invited to dinner by total strangers and we all know why.
Tell me, what do you do there, besides sitting in Ave Maria, parque Lleras Saturday night?
In barranquiilla for lunch we go eat pescao frito in Sabanilla Beach, just 20 minutes away. Then around 2-3pm we roll out the stereo equipment to the front of the house, blast the music, drink ice cold beer, habla mierda y mamar gallo under a big ass mango tree and watch the neighborhood girls walk up and down the street.
In the evening we hit the bars to find hookers.
Please give any info of what a day is like in Medallo.
Thank you!

Elmo, you're so right!

I didn't have a small child and going to have another in 4 months... I'd live on the coast.
But I use Medellin as a way to recover... Good climate, clean, kind people, good water and air, music at low volume, healthy food. It is a kind of good health clinic.

If I want to have fun, La Murillo or Puerto Colombia or just seat at La Frutera El Compadre eating matrimonios (queso con bollo) y empanadas de queso hablando mierda anyday of my life...
But then I don't know how long I would live or how long my marriage would last...

So... I am here and go to La Costa soon, spend a couple of months and back to the clinic.

My advice is: two months en la costa and two months en la clinica and you'll live 20 years more.

La Cafeteria is at three hours driving from La Clinica.

Freedom is no more.
A cop could crack your head wide open any time he wants.
A fokin cop in Barranquilla touches me with no reason and that’s the end of that miserable modefoque
The racial tension created by the far right is scary and the way they have DEMONIZED Mexicans injuns, I find unfair and sad
Many other Latinos are getting sucked into this mess.
The weather.
And most important, lack of affordable CHUCHA, too damn EXPENSIVE,try 200 dollars a pop

Elmo, how about this? Your wife's apartment in Envigado and the stabbing cabin in BAQ. You can benefit both ways. The coast can get boring.....from Monday-Wednesday. You can do those days in Medellin, and the rest on the coast.

If it were my choice, I too would choose Barranquilla, 100 out of 100 times. A real city, located between the top two beach cities (Cartagena and Santa Marta) in the mainland, easily accessible to San Andres, Panama, etc., even Venezuela. Riohacha to the north and Valledupar to the east.

After chucha in Medellin, what's really left to do? Waiting around for the La Feria de las Flores in August? El jefe cafetero? Been there and done that. Rionegro? Bello? Y'all can have it.

Final point. When any Colombians have free time and $$$, where do they go??? The coast.

I'm out.

I told you Elmo, and I am completely serious on this.

Fact: you have a place in Envigado, you'll have a place in Curramba...

ADA for BAQ - MDE, 1h - 50m, 120 USD,
Taxi Envigado - Airport 3 USD
Taxi North BAQ - Airport 13 USD
-------
Total 136 USD per trip

That's it! 3 months in MDE, 3 months BAQ. 4 trips per year. 544 USD per year.

You miss Curramba and you feel in shape to face it after having eaten enough healthy Papel - Arepa? Wake up in the morning and jump on a plane.
You feel that you have to cut it before having an heart attack en Fredy en La Murillo and have your body sold out to the university en El Cementerio Calancala? Back to the Clinic for a couple of months.

This past weekend, I went out with PBH buddies to Queens in search of chucha, I could not even buy chucha, so what’s the point of having money.
I saw one of the most stunning broads I ever seen in my life; she had an ass to kill for. She was working a bar on 37th ave queen and had illegal Colombian hooker written all over her face.
