Barranquilla

Hey for those interested in Barranquilla it is a hoot of a city for a party. Was just there for carnival and while not like Brazil - it was pretty damm good. The night parties were the best. Try the following discos if you get there; Seven (Fav out of all), Muys, Frog leggs, Aguila bar on 84 for starters.

Hotel wasnt too exy and arrived Saturday with no booking and got a room- 200,000 pesos (Hotel Trarento Suites) which isnt to shabby for a no booking arrival during th carnivals!!!

The people were great - very friendly. Lots of partying. I dont think the city is beautiful, but I like the ´´feel´´ of it a lot.

most people don't go to Barranquilla for its beauty.Usually for Carnaval or they have family there. But the people are warm and friendly, and the city is improving.....slowly but surely.
If the Politicians and Civil servants hadn't siphoned off so much money, I think it would be a match for Medellín in terms of prosperity and development

The three big prolems of Barranquilla:
Wealthy families
Politicians
Paras

...which is infact, just one.

"I am a citizen of the most beautiful nation on earth. A nation whose laws are harsh yet simple, a nation that never cheats, which is immense and without borders, where life is lived in the present."
