It just seems that everything I buy that is related to electronics is bad quality here.
I started out buying movies and they all suck.. Now I´m renting from blockbuster to aviod that. Even musical cd´s are bad quality.
Then I bought a computer and it only works when it wants to. Already had it replaced once and no se how many more times.
I tried to buy some computer games but they didn´t work. So I returned them for new ones and no surprise...the new ones don´t work either.
It just seems to me that a lot of people sell trash here. I think you have to be really carefull who you buy from.
I had a conversation with a gringo friend of mine the other day and he told me he won´t buy anything unless the place is recommended to him.. I think the problem with that is if one place treats you good it won´t necessarily treat your friend good. So maybe recommendations don´t mean shit? How do you find good quality in this city??? I have no idea.

I bought software in Medellin and had no problems but thru recommendation..Now I get software via torrent sites on the internet... panthdave Miami 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

I am in the market for a small apartment sized portable Washing machine and after looking at the Foreign made units, instead of buying one made made in China/india, I'm buying a 50 year old American Made Kenmore or Handy Hot Unit and refurbishing it to last another 50 years. mranderson says on Aug 17, 2008, 13:34: I need a working computer to do that. This computer works but the internet sucks. My velocity is 1 or 2mbps. Shouldn´t it be 54? That´s what it was with the old computer anyway. My internet constantly drops off and I can´t make skype phone calls. I´m actually amazed I´m able to stay connected long enough to post here and read this site. Most of the time I can´t connect to my broadband internet.

Monita Linda says on Aug 17, 2008, 15:54: We bought one during a sale, and we got a lot of good free upgrades. I believe we paid for a 17" screen and got a 22, plus a hell lot of memory and other inside things. I am not sure which CC we paid with.. I think it was the Colombian one... they shipped for free to our home... we paid 1,500,000 for something that would cost here in Colombia (Hewlett Packard) around 4 millions...

panthdave says on Aug 18, 2008, 02:36: I would buy from a major manufacture unless you have a reference...like I could refer using Chiptech in Hallandale Florida but don't have any references for Colombia yet. Also still based on performance and configuration Dell computers are priced better in the States..you get more features for your buck. panthdave Miami 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

I hate having problems with electronics...I use my computer everyday, pretty much all the time so it is very important for me to have a reliable machine. At the end of the day, what seemed to be a cheap deal ends up being a nightmare... I've learned my lesson and I refuse to buy non-apple computer stuff. Monita Linda says on Aug 18, 2008, 13:39: We buy pretty much all of our electronics in Carrefour. Never really had problems. It is better to buy it in a place like that, where you also have warranty, then to buy it in el centro for maybe 70mil cheaper... but those 70mil will burn in your rear once you start having problems and no guarantee....
