Background Check for Canadian Visa?

Hi Everyone

Does anyone know how long it takes the Canadian Embassy in Bogota to do a background check for someone applying for a permanent residence visa?

Your help is appreciated!

I wish I knew. You've seen the overall processing times? Why are you curious about this particular time?

Question Hey there. Background checks can take up to 1 year. I don't know in Bogotá, I applied in Buffalo.

Did you get a fingerprint request? If you are in Bogotá where/how did you get it? or the DAS police certificate was enough for them? or is there another kind of police certificate that the Canadian CIC needs?

Your answer will be deeply appreciated

The Cdn immigration forms specify the certificate needed: Certificado y judicial de Policia. Haven't heard anything about fingerprinting or how long it takes.

Thanks a lot GaryGrant! So I guess the police certificate they give you at DAS is just what they ask!

Thanks!
