Back From Bogota!

Hey Guys!

I'm back!
Wow did i EVER HAVE A GOOD FUCKING TIME!.

The city is sooo huge, you could never see it all in like 100 years! All the people are so nice, smiling and waving. The woman, *phew*, i'm still sweating! :-)

I told all my friends to forget everything they ever heard on the news and jump on the next plane to this wonderful country!

I love how everyone drives bikes and you can drive ATV's in the streets. Clothes are sooo cheap! We went to this market place on other side of city and everything is tax free!

I didn't see alot of homeless people like I thought I would. There was poor people of course, but most of them were selling stuff or washing windows and stuff for money. Not just begging. If they asked me, I say No tengo and they don't bug me anymore. But always with a smile. and I know I shouldn't give money to kids but I always gave all my change to them.

I drank alot of aguardenite, and brouight alot back! That shit gets your twisted, at only 29%.
I love the beer there... most of it like 4% when in Canada alot is like 6%, hehe but good regardless. Bogota beer company had alot of choices which they gave to you in a huge beer bong! Club Colombia is greatest beer ever.

Anywayz, I seen alot of sites in and around the city, so all n all I had an amazing time.

You can see some selected pictures here, I didn't upload them all because there was over 320 pics and 30 videos.

Colombia is Beautiful Colombia is an incredibly beautiful country. The people, food, sceneries, culture, fun, happy, etc are unbelievable. I started going in 2002 and I have been there about 13 times.

Great views of the city. I Great views of the city, I even recognised a few places. I always want to take pics in Bogota but I'm always paranoid someone's gonna snatch my camera (Not limited to Bogota, I felt that when I was in New York, Lisbon and Athens as well)

What I've always loved and never lost my awe for no matter how many times I've been to Bogota is that the whole city is surrounded by Mountains.

Cool stuff.

Lots of tree photos Obviously the flora interested you too. Pretty different from our northerly stuff. I get a kick out of seeing "annuals" growing year round and all over the place in Bogota....Then there are the fond memories of my early sightings of orange trees and mango trees in Colombia (not in Bogota).

Rubiazo There was a few beers involved.. I must say.
I got drunk almost everynight, and if not.. just drank a 6 pack and watched a movie in the hotel room.

I highly recommended ZUETANA 93, zuetana.com
AMAZING staff. Sooo nice and friendly, cheap drinks and great food.
Real close to parc 93 and other places.

Jordan,Nice photos, Been there to many of the same places! Since the vehicle restriction driving days, I'm amazed at how clear Bogota is since my first visit in 1995; Day and night difference! Then(1995), from Monserrate, you could hardly see the center of the city on many days. Great improvement in Air Quality! Thanks for the entertaining Pics! Nice company you aligned with also.heh heh

Hey Jordan, great pics!! Man, you gotta tell me your secret, how do you get such hot looking chicks in Colombia? Ok, I realize that I’m old enough to be your granpappy but even when I was in my twenties traveling back to Colombia once or twice a year beginning in 1978, I still could not get anything. I was told a few times that I look too scary but I don’t think so, I look like your average low life dark corroncho, nothing special. I do pretty good with women from strata 0 but ofcourse they are not nearly as pretty as the ones in your pic. Most of the women I get need serious dental work and have skinny ashy legs and droopy tits.
Please share your secret!!! Or maybe the Colombians girls here can give me some pointers or tell me what I’m doing wrong.

any colombianita willing to date me, IS UP TO NO GOOD

I don't think I'd give the same advice Yeah, I love Colombia, but I don't think I'd tell people to forget everything they've heard in the news and take the first plane down there. As people are always saying on this site, listen to what you hear in the news and be cautious. I liked your pics. Brought back a lot of memories.

Questions for JordanXXX I checked out your pictures and there really cool. I plan to go to Bogota in July 2007 and am really looking forward to taking lots of pictures and filming. How comfortable did you feel taking those pictures and filming. I hear about snatching cameras on the street, so i want to be safe too.

Dude Sweet motorcycles man.Are they Harleys?

For the filming/take pictures.Just like any where else really. If you see some one starring at you and they look like they have bad intentions simple do not film or wait for him/her to walk away.Just be a little street smart like you would be if you went to New York,Athens etc etc or any where else.

Another Canadian in Bogota I was in Cartagena for most of December & my gf I met asked me to go with her to Bogota. My friends in Cartagena to me to be very careful as it is dangerous for gringos to take cabs.

She took the bus & I decided to go a few days later. My gf met me at the airport with her brother. We went to the north section but all of the hotels seemed to be full, so I ended up staying at her 2 room apartment in the south part, with her, her daughter, mother and brother's family from Cali (12 people in 2 rooms)

I had a great time. I was there for Christmas.. saw la Candelaria, downtown, Montserrat.. my legs are still sore from walking down from there!!

I will post a link later to a few fotos

DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE CAMERA Sooner or later I will get my camera stolen, however I always try to purchase a mid-range value for around $200 just for this reason. I just bought an outstanding Canon digital for $195 several months back and now already selling for $70 less.

You could also buy a bunch of disposables and/or multiple cheaper memory chips for your mid-range camera. This way if the camera gets stolen you may not lose all your picts.

A lot of it is common sense. When returning from Medellin last Feb. the security went ape-shit over this guy taking a photo while waiting to board. I took a picture but from my lap and nobody noticed. Many new cameras have this feature.

get down, get down. are you afraid of the boogie monster?
