David in Idaho says on May 12, 2007, 11:48:

Looks fun if what you're into is catching farmed fish in man-made ponds. Aren't there places around where you can actually go fishing, for real?

mecca says on May 12, 2007, 11:56:

David, that's what i'm looking for, a river, stream, large lake or just go on to the ocean fishing. Boaty, do you or anyone else know where on the pacific side has good fishing.?? Any safety ideas on the pacific side? Thanks.

Hey billyb... You are from Pasto, or Popayan, or Cali or Nieva or somewhere down there; WTF does someone go to catch some good fishin action??? Are there any 'streams' in Las Andes, like the trout streams in the Rockies (North America, of course!)?

Where do we go from here?

In Feliz MF, I will pardon your Pasto remark ;) well, you could try Laguna de La Cocha (otherwise known as La Coche by certain "ignorant" ;) Cajuns) or you could try the Pacific coast, which is close by to any of the afformentioned cities. Or you could try upstream up the Valle de Corcora for some fine trout fishing and wind up in Salento for some of the best Colombian style partying, these are some of the friendliest people on earth.

goin_south says on May 12, 2007, 23:59:

try???.....did you say....TRY? 'try' is what you do, when you are one year old and learning to walk.

I THINK WHAT WE HAVE HERE IS PEOPLE WHO KNOW HOW TO FISH.
(And, likely people who know how to party when the fish are full....lol)

You've got about 4 mil cousnz; surely one... knows about fishin.
