Awás Indians Massacred Near Tumaco

Today’s El Pais reports that the twelve awás Indians massacred near Tumaco were killed by a gang called Los Cucarachos made up of…awás Indians. The massacred were killed in a robbery of three million pesos they had earned the day before for the sale of coca leaves. One of the awás pulled the hood off one of the aggressors and recognized him thus necessitating the murder.
