Monpirri says on Aug 2, 2009, 07:12: I do not know about you guys and gals but I have seen here and almost everywhere in the planet that everyone only talks about two Colombian dishes; ajiaco and bandeja paisa. Well, well…what do I think about it? I think they have been over advertised because they are only 2 dishes out more than 1,000 dishes that Colombians have in their cuisine! Bill Turley (Moderator) (Trustee board) (☼Travelguide writer) says on Aug 2, 2009, 07:59: I thought it was cooked on those metallic cone like things. So I went to a metal worker here near the Llanios and asked for for the thing to hold the meat. I came back and got the device and it was a metal spear about 4 ft long. Now after more time here I know that they use wooden stakes or poles and thread the meat on the pole push one end in the ground at an angle and rotate is as needed while the meat cooks next to the wood fire Mr. Bill Somondoco 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

jmendelson says on Aug 3, 2009, 10:13: in central Florida, we have Rancho Alegre, which is very tipico Llanero (Venezolano) but has all of great food that we had in Villavo. and great musica Llanera. the only thing that they didn't have there which I liked was refraho (spelling?). was a great place for a day outing as it is like a ranch that has horses (horse rides for the kids) and swimming pool, and a few hammocks set up around the property. jmendelson 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

catamd says on Aug 3, 2009, 13:54: Its's spelled Refajo, jmendelson. You can make it yourself, if you can find Colombiana or Kola Roman soda (in most colombian restaurants) and mix it with beer (preferably colombian, of course!!) 1:1, you´ll make your own delicious refajo!!!
