Does anyone have any tips about the city of Armenia?
Also is it really safe for a single female to live in Colombia? I am moving down there and trying to ease my family and their worries.

I have been to all coffee-region cities, Medellin, live in Bogota, been in B/manga, Santa Marta, and Cartagena. My perception and from what have heard, Armenia is pretty safe. I did not spend a lot of time in the city itself, though, rather the pueblos (Circasia, Montenegro, Calarca, Salento, etc.). I would say Quindio is one of the if not these most convenient departments due to all villages being less than an hour from Armenia, the capital, plus you have Cali 3 hours away, Pereira 1 hour, and Manizales 2 hr. and change. You also have a lot of tourist sites like Panaca (didn't go), the Coffee Park (excellent), pretty architectural sites like Salento, and the Quindio Botanical Garden/Butterfly Display in Calarca.
