I would love to know more aobut Architecture in Colombia If you have information on Architecture or Architects form Colombia I would love to read it. I have been to Colombia twice now in the last year and a half and have so far purchesed 3 books on Architecture in Colombia.

As an architect the speciallizes in Home Design I like to see how other cultures use different spaces in a home. I have noticed that the general house layout is quite differentin Colombia. For one the kitchen area is never open to the rest of the house like it is here in the USA. Secondly I have also noticed that the concept of the Living Room is very popular there. The Living Room is toward the front of the house and is the area where guests are received and entertained, this area is however closed off or isolated from the rest of the house. In the states however the Living Room has almost become extinct and has been replaced with the Great Room or Family Room where guests will sit around a TV and usually have a full view of the Kitchen.

Just my casual observation. Anyone else care to add to this observation of mine.

I am waiting on my copy, but I had a browse at a copy in Bogotá and it looks to be very good. I am primarily interested in modern architecture, also the use of bamboo as a building material.

Has far as bamboo or guadua construction techniques go, my co-worker here at the office wrote his Master's Thesis on just that subject. We talk about that very subject here at the office quite a bit.
