I am looking for someone travelling from USA to Medellin soon (next 4 weeks), who in return for a a fee ($25?), would bring some small articles with them which I could collect from their Medellin address. (eg. books/ipod). These are articles I would have posted to their US address (so they need to be there for at least a 8 day period for me to organise delivery). I know there are commercial ways to do this, but one generally pays an import tax when using professional courier companies, whereas items accompanied by a traveller are not taxed.

Papi de Alejo says on Aug 24, 2008, 18:41: I don't think that there's any law against carrying something that belongs to someone else. It might be stupid, but I can't see it as illegal. But if the person carrying the items knows for sure what the items are and packs them themselves in their suitcases, I don't see the problem. Live simply... Love generously... Care deeply... Speak kindly... 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

nbenjamin says on Aug 24, 2008, 21:22: I am going from LAX to MDE, Saturday at 1 a.m. Carry "stuff" for you, for $ 25.00? If it is not brand new stuff (i.e., dont order stuff to my house) but your family/friends are packing some stuff - you can send it over to my house - and I will throw it in my bag. And you can keep the 25.00...

Robert Jorge says on Aug 24, 2008, 23:35: No, it is not illegal to carry somebody elses shit. They ask you about that in the airport - because YOU are responsible for the shit if it is contraband. Feel free to carry somebody elses IPod. "You can not take the barrio out of the girl you really can't." Oneforamillion 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
