Arauca - Bucaramanga transport

Valdemar have you been to arauca before? if not just be extra careful, specially in places like saravena and tame they are guerrilla zone the ELN runs there, Arauca have an Airport the most likely airlines to fligh there are Satena, aires or areotaca check those ones, although Arauca have a bus terminal i would not recomended travel by bus there. but check anyway. from Barracabermeja to Bucaramanga I think is bus only

BTW the name of the Arauca airport is Santiago perez Ortiz

just check the airlines, Aires fly to Bucaramanga but not Arauca
Satena does travel to Arauca from bogota you have to check is they travel from arauca to bucaramanga, i think they do, check the website http://www.satena.com

I havn't been to Arauca... but I work in Barrancabermeja which is also not the safest place in Colombia... however it has been much worse I've been told. I work as a petrol engineer on a project for Ecopetrol and protection around here is pretty high. I have a great friend living in Aracua and I want to meet him in Bucaramanga (definetly not in Aracua based on what you Say). According to Ecopetrol it should be fine for me to go to Bucaramanga. The reason for asking about the flight ticket to and from Aracua is that I want to buy the ticket for him. I will check out the airlines you mentioned and see if they cover that route.
I think you're right that there is no flight between Barranca and Bucaramanga as the distance isn't much. I appreciate very much you input ..
