I know this probably on here somewhere but was unable to find in search.
I'm sending money to my wife's family in Cali and was told that the bank will not release the funds to my mom-in-laws account until she presents an apostille. is this correct?? if so, who issues the apostille or is it just a notarized letter saying that the funds are from savings and not from anything illegal. also, does it need to be in spanish or can it just be in english.
thanks.

cali373 says on Apr 12, 2007, 18:43: The big question is Why are they asking for that? What method did you use to send the funds. I want to know just to make sure I dont follow the same route. Anytime I sent money only a cedula was sufficient. Smile if you are a thinker! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

brad216 says on Apr 13, 2007, 04:16: my mother in law banks at banco popular and we are sending 5000 down there. the branch manager gave us wiring instructions and said this was needed to release the funds because they want to make sure the funds are coming from a legal source and not any type of money laundering. thanks tinto for the reply.

mecca says on Apr 14, 2007, 08:09: you'll be fine brad that amount should not raise any red flags. Sometimes you send it and they can just get it without anything, even though the banks say you have to have this and that. If you have a business, they may ask for a stamped (secretary of state) copy of your business permit.
