I´M IN COLOMBIA RIGHT KNOW, I STARTED TO SHOW THE PAPERWORK AT THE NOTARIAS, EVERYBODY SAYS THAT THE DOCUMENTS NEED THE APOSTILLA. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I HAD ALL THE DOUCUMENTS TRANSLATED NOTARIZED AND ALSO WENT TO THE COURT HOUSE AND ASKED FOR THE APOSTILLA, THEY ATTACHED A PAPER WITH A SEAL TO EACH DOCUMENT THEY ASSURED ME THAT IT WAS THE APOSTILLA, SO I BELIEVED THEM. BUT KNOW THE PAPERWORK IS BEING DENIED BECAUSE IT DOESN´T SAY ¨APOSTILLA¨ EVEN THOUGH ALL THE INFORMATION IS IN IT, WHAT CAN I DO OR WHEN CAN I GET THE APOSTILLA IN BOGOTA? I SEARCHED THE SITE FOR THE EMBASSY IN BOGOTA AND IT SAYS THAT THEY WON´T ISSUE APOSTILLAS. CAN ANYONE HELP ME, MY TRIP HERE TO BOGOTA WAS TO GET MARRIED AND NOW I CAN´T.

Gator says on Jul 30, 2006, 19:20: You Are Out Of Luck The apostila MUST come from the the Secretary of State's Office where the document was issued or notarized. It can NOT be issued on a local, county, level. Other than making a lot of calls back to the USA and spending big bucks to overnight stuff both ways I am at a loss to offer advice. Hopefully someone else can jump in. The ONLY alternative I can see would be to fly to San Andres Island-only your passport is needed there and the wedding is perfectly legal.
