Apartment Sales, Furniture, Fridge...things I need!

Hi everyone!

Im moving to a new apartment in the next few weeks (Medellin, Ive been here for 3 years) and it turns out that it is not amoblado. Thats fine by me, but it means that I am now in the market for various ammenities to make the place more "homey"

For example, a fridge, a couch or loveseat, table, a few chairs, kitchen stuff, and maybe even a washer.

A friend told me recently that apartment/moving sales are fairly common in Medellin, and that it is a good place to find such furniture and house hold items at a fair price. Is this a fairly common practice?

I will be curious Mike if you do find some second hand furniture. I would like to find desk for myself (second hand), but it looks like I will be having it made. I know a guy here in Medellin who was looking for a place to store his stuff. Maybe he would sell some of it. I will let him know about your post and forward your email address. Problem with some guys here is they expect the same price they bought the furniture for! That has been my experience with my Gringo "friends" lol.
