Hi Princess,

I saw their website, and the address and phone are listed on the home page. It looks like an OK place. Probably not a bad part of the city, but not necessarily where I would like to stay, personally. http://www.wonderfulhouse100.com/home.htm

I know it's hard to pick a place based on websites and pics when you don't know a city. Do you speak Spanish? Lots of the hotel staff in Bog. speak English, but not all. Perhaps your travel agent can help you. Here is a place I like :

I guess you'll have to copy and paste that. It's near the zona rosa, the big shopping centers, and most people I've talked to say it's very safe. For about $90 a night you get a nice little apartment. Oh... the link I put above, you have to click on the part that says Virrey. They have different properties, and this one is an apartment building a half block from a nice park by that name. You can walk around plenty. Another place I like is in a neighborhood called Chico'. Again, everyone says is safe. Kind of expensive. It's considered one of their nicer barrios. It used to be cheaper for US coming in with $, but now that the $ has taken a beating, it's a little pricey for me. It's called Lloyd's, about $100 a night, but again it is really more like renting a studio apartment. This one is close to a different park, Parque 93. Very nice, trendy restaurants around there. Some will say that this part of Bogota is a tourist part and maybe not the 'real' Bogota. You'll see other gringos and foreigners there. (Assuming you are a gringa, maybe not). But from there you can easily get out to other places and go in taxi or walk to anything you need. Here's the site: http://www.paginasamarillas.com/pagamanet/web/procesos/link.aspx?ie=10...

I'm sort of new to the site, at least as far as posting goes. I've been reading the posts for a long time. I hope my use of the word gringo above doesn't cause a flurry of comments. Nothing bad meant on my part, but in another post I read that maybe wasn't a good word to use sometimes, so maybe I'll use it less. I have found this site to be very interesting and useful to me the first few times I went to Colombia and wanted to learn about it, so if I could help anyone else enjoy their travels there, I'd be happy to offer the bit I've learned, if asked.

Good luck.
