I am tryingg to determine if i should bring 2 HDTV or HDTV-ready flatscreen TVs with me to Colombia. I know that satellite providers might be broadcasting in HDTV now or in the near future, but i think that i will opt to get the HDTV-ready sets. I wanted to know if anyone is familiar with which brands, sizes, etc and the corresponding prices, or if it is wiser to just pack them in the shipping container after US purchase. I have seen stores in Colombia displaying LG brands, but no other brands. Any relevant thoughts and/or comments from the people currently living in Colombia?

Cerealkiller says on Nov 11, 2006, 11:47: I was told they were going to start broadcasting HD next year, if I were you though Id bring my tv over because they can be ridiculously expensive here in comparison with american prices. You can find a 32 inch Samsung for around 2500 to 3000 dollars, which is usually the price for a 42' one in Europe and I am guessing its less in the US Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives -John Stuart Mill 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Miguel_Clavo says on Nov 11, 2006, 17:07: CK and Aztec...i was told that some satellite companies have begun to transmit HDTV but you need their specialized equipment (like essvsat.com type companies). Since internet connections are not real reliable in CTG, i was thinking of purchasing the satellite internet equipment for the office and the apartment there, and the ability to receive HDTV when it is up and running. I would use the HDTV set for XBOX 360 type games as well, not just programs. "I would rather die living life, than to live a dying life."........ Oh, and my PM is always ON.
