anyone want to form a band?

I´m a tuba player, drummer, halfazz guitar player, looking for people to play music with. I´m mostly into jazz, blues, classic rock. But mostly jazz, or salsa...most anything. Let me know.....zlateh at hotmail.com

Tony Wilson, and I agree.

My brother makes his career, his LIFE, from jazz music. He would be appalled to hear that. I can't bear to tell him. Anyone out there a musician, or what?

As a drummer, I must say Jazz is much more fun to play than listening or watching. That does not mean there isn't a lot of great jazz to listen too, but its much funner to play. Great for creative expression.

OK, I've kept schtum on this one for a little while, anyone that knows my replies to posts knows that I am reasonable, respectfull, obedient, quiet, loving, big aahh stop now! JAZZ is a very strong perfume made in......., HA what are we talking about here trad jazz, jazz fusion, jazzrock, jazz is everywhere, I have the ultimate respect for jazz musicians, for me they are people that have spent many hours practising, and in a way are real musicians, I picked up a guitar, coppied santana, turned my marshall amp up to 11 and let the distortion disguise my inadequacy and played rock , hard rock music bassed on 12 bar blues etc, anyway you get my point, although I can play the drums as well and you can often find me tapping away in 13 / 8 when I have nothing else to do . check out the rippingtons live cd for a great cross over of jazz rock.

Where are you located? I'm from Medellín and I´m singer interested in the band. And in common agree with all the musicians gifted with common sense and a little bit of knowledge, I must say that Jazz deserves all respect, is great music, you have to be tremendous musician to play it, anyway it is difficult to hear for regular people, it is elaborated music with sofisticated sounds, dont blame them for loving just reggaeton (... by the way, I think that's not even music...) Jazz is not for everyone.

I think the blues can be a good, happy listening experience, because you can connect with the music. Upbeat blues and shuffles certainly can be fun.

Obviously, the songs themselves are usually venting about the problems in the writers life, and many blues songs express sorrow, but like I said, it can make it a very pleasurable listening experience because the listener can connect to it. Furthermore, and it doesn't matter how depressing the song's meaning is, if it has a good hook its always going to put someone in a good mood.

Stuff like Stevie Ray Vaughn, happy blues. Stuff like BB King and older blues, depressing mood but still puts a good feeling in you.

Stevie Ray covering Elmore James' "The Sky Is Crying"...yeah, right HAPPY BLUES.
BB King's "Let The Good Times Roll"...yeah, right DAMN DEPRESSING.

Just an example of how the blues can be sad as well as happy; same goes for vallenato and many other styles of music. It depends on the lyrics.

I do agree with the statement about songs that come from a "depressing mood but still puts a good feeling in you".

I would love to start a band, that was my life , forever back in the UK, birmingham, london , but to be honest I sold my Gibson flying "V" fender thin line telecaster, strat , les paul custom, yamaha sg 2000, and washburn paul reed smith copy( althought last in the list but most expensive) but the best was the yamaha I had the frets skimmed, bought it in 75, gigged with me everywhere, the action after 10 years was, I'm talking distance between the fret board and strings was like a womens body , smooth and bendy, oh god ..stop, guitar stuff of course. I'd love to do it but where are the marshall stacks, mesa boogie combos etc. WHAT a dream , c'mon kick me up the ass and say ,stop being so negative, It'sbeen a long time since I rock and................................
