Anyone have some Cali tips?

I am not by any means a newbie to Colombia. I've been to Barranquilla, Cartagena, Santa Marta, Bogota, and surrounding areas numerous times..... but I'm going to be in Cali in Febuary for the first time and wanted to hear from a few veterans of the area. I've heard that overall the city is not quite as safe as some of the other larger cities...ie. Bogota/Cartagena...any opinions?

I'm interested in this too. I'm thinking about going to the Feria de Cali, which I know would be lots of riotous fun. Anyone been? Is the atmosphere and good times worth the hassles in terms of safety, accommodation, chaotic holiday transport?

A stupid question, perhaps, so indulge me.

Cali for the Feria, was the best time of my life (PERIOD). People say medellin has the most beautiful women, no way, I go to Medallo all the time, I have a young beautiful Piasita out there but for women no question it is CALI. CAli is a joke. I am from Los Angeles - but it cannot hold a candle to Cali. That place is a joke. I felt safe the hole time I was there and had no problem. But being safe is more about how smart a traveller you are. But get in touch with Art brode - he is out there and he keeps it pretty street.

Don't give them the tip, give them the whole thing.

hey benjamin.... I'm a lil confused.

but, I think we're in agreement ...
if I was suddenly set free!
I'd turn my sites on Cali

I'm still confused.
Seems I always like the last place I visited in Colombia.... The Best! Wherever it is.

Hola!

I really like the Palmetto Mall in Cali! We eat Baby Beef in the food court and drink Cerveza with lime and salt in the Mall inner court downstairs at one of the 8 bars!

Let me clarify, but I do think we are in agreement.

I live in Los Angeles. Although los angeles can go toe to toe with most places in the world. That is Los Angeles has many of beautiful women. Cali, however, has the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Maybe Miami is better. Nowhere can compare with Cali. I have been all continents except Africa (aside from Morroco and egypt but that does not count). Maybe it was just the week I spent in Cali, I dont know. I go to Medallo (medellin) all the time. And people say it has the hottest chicks ever. But Medellin v. Los Angeles, I think LA might win. But Cali - I have never seen so many hot chicks in my life.

That was it. I loved Cali. If I was to go back I would just ask Art Brode to give me a couple of chicks and some yea-yo.

john_stark says on Dec 6, 2007, 19:47:

Depends on the kind of chicks you like. For me, Medellin wins hands down for its women with pale skin and long straight jet black hair. That's my type.

travelingirl says on Dec 6, 2007, 19:54:

Wow, men actually like pale skin? Who are you? Where do you live? Why can't I get people around me to realize this? lol I'm seriously, the palest person I know.

john_stark says on Dec 6, 2007, 19:56:

What I love is the contrast between the pale skin and that absolutely jet black hair. It's a common look for many Medellin women.

Come on, Travelingirl, no guy ever told you that you were the hottest thing he's seen? Not even to get in your pants?

Robert Jorge says on Dec 6, 2007, 20:11:

nbenjamin, you said "hole time" ..... huhhh huhhhh, huhu huhu huhhh

Dark hair on a fair complexion .... Holy cow. I don't know who you are hangin' with travelingirl. I 100% agree with JS. I appreciate all women, but something about dark hair against light skin .... gives me the shivers.

my first reaction is to think this is a joke, Azul from your previous knowledge of colombia, cali is a stroll in the park, mail me for more wonders of the world, realy I get torn apart on this site so please understand my skepticism, you might be under cover ha ha. hablamos

travelingirl says on Dec 6, 2007, 20:38:

Sure, to get in my pants, but that's different.
I thought I was a freak with my Conan O'Brien pale skin and dark hair. All I ever wanted was darker skin.
However, I did find that no one ever asked me where I was from when in Colombia. I get that all the time. People asking me where I'm from, my parents, or my grandparents. So for once, I felt like I "fit in" during my stay in Colombia even with the pale skin. It was nice.

john_stark says on Dec 6, 2007, 20:46:

A freak? All I can say is I'd like to get freaky with that kind of freak.

travelingirl says on Dec 6, 2007, 20:46:

I will totally take that as a compliment. :)

Hahaha... the pale force is some sort of cartoon and one of the main characters is Conan O'Brian. But basically, I was just asking you if you agreed with some of the other guys that pale is cool and not just 100 years ago.
