Anyone got a line on a mattress and tv?

Hey all, just got in to Medellin for the big move a few days ago. I'm looking for a Queen-size mattress and a decent tv. Any for sale? Any ideas on the best places to buy?

Also, it will be a while before all my visa stuff goes through, so anyone got any suggestions on prepago cellphones? I've heard Comcel is the way to go.

thanks,
joe.

Comcel prepago phones are ok, most people seem to use comcel. 60000 pesos should do it.

Used Items in Colombia Used items are very difficult to find in Colombia. There are many places in Centro Medellin where you can buy a good mattress for cheap. You may want to try a Pawn Shop for a used tv. But you may be buying someone elses problems. Often Exito has sales on during the weekend. You may want to try them.

i have a hostal here and am pretty happy with the mattresses i have bought.... about 35

remember that in Colombia ALL mattresses are made to 1.90 metre length.. i had to get my mattresses specially made to 2 metres length.. that meant i also had to get the frames specially made. not to expensive..

phone Juan Felipe at this number in Medellin 2385051. highly recommended. he owns a furniture shop in Calle 30 with about 70 called Decorochoa

Thanks for the info.
Found out that I can use Skype to call cell phones. Only 230/minute so not too bad. Comcel wants 630/minute prepago for other Comcel users and 1.100/minute for nonusers!

My buddy has a bed to sell & he´s in Medellin right now! His bed is stored in the storeroom in my sports bar in Medellin and my buddy just got in this week and is looking to sell it as he doesn´t need it anymore. Not the most modern thing but comfortable and in good shape. Mattress has a lot of life left in it. Probably he´ll ask around US$150...offer him a few bucks less and he´ll probably accept. There´s even a place a few blocks away from here that they sit on the side of the road offer moving truck services dirt cheap.

Call me at 3434343 with your phone number and I´ll have him call you directly and you guys can work out when to come and see it.
