Anyone Familiar With This Medellin Address, Barrio and Condo Complex Building? Need Info,,,

TRANSVERSAL 4 #79D94----PORTALES DEL SOL.BARRIO------- LA MOTA

Reason I ask, I have a chance to acquire a Condo in this building and am not familiar with it. Depending on the outcome of my research, I would travel to check it out. Right now, about all I know about the area this Building is in is that its a few minutes from the well known Medellin Clinic "Clinica de Las Americas". Thanks for any info offered. I have not been to Medellin, most of my travel has been to Bogota and La Costa.

I´m not sure about that exact barrio but the area is clean, quiet, and safe. Not far from the olaya airport.

I've read some commnets on a search I did here but couldn't find any recent comments. The old comments say its a pretty nice area, wondering if anything has changed recently.

Nothing has changed. I have a private class everyweek in one of the towers behind the exito in la mota and it´s a real quiet area. Too quiet for me.

If you can get a good deal on a condo there then I would jump on it.

How far is this Building from the Elevated Metro-rail Train?

No where near it. You would take the circular sur bus 302/303 to centro or to Aguacatala metro station.

Do you have to take the circular sur bus past aguacatala to get to centro? Seems far. Or is there another bus route that is quicker from la mota?

Actually go the other way, away from aguacatala and it will bring you downtown.

when im in medellin, i stay in belen, which is close to la mota. i was actually back there en la mota y los bernal looking at the condo buildings and the town houses in gated community. its very nice, although i only visit i wouldnt be able to tell you in detail what the area is like. but just out of curiosity what price range are you picking it up for and how many bedrooms? when i move down to colombia i will probably live in a small town but if it was going to be medellin i would be looking around belen, la mota, los bernal, laureles maybe.

La Mota is a very nice, quiet neighborhood. I have friends living in that area and I love it because it's really easy to get there and it has easy access to the Circular Sur bus route which can take you to El Poblado and even the Centro. If you take the bus route the opposite way you can go to Los Molinos or hang out at any of the restaurants on La 80. Like you said, you have Clínica Las Américas nearby which is a very good clinic, the Rodeo Club, Campos de Paz (in case you need it he, he, he), Éxito, Los Molinos mall, the Juan Pablo II park, Olaya Herrera airport, etc. Nice neighborhood and not very expensive.

Just the weekend before last had my taxista tour me around it as I had seen it from afar in Oviedo and Poblado on other trips and was interested in learning. Looked very nice with many nice buildings and an Exito nearby.
