Anyone been to Tairona recently?

Have been to Parque Tairona many times though not since 1999 now and not with my son so would like to take him there but only if safe to do so. Opinions please?

I went to Tayrona a couple of times 3 and 4 months ago. Nothing wrong. Going again in ten days or so.

Good Do we still have to take our own hammocks? Is the restaurant still there?

What Beach... in the park are you talking about-several meet that description? We have visited within the last four moths or so with no problems-other than the bumpy-ass road.

A couple weeks ago I hiked a couple hours through the forest to ariciefes, and nearby beaches in Tairona. There was some military personel at the entrance to the trail. It seemed like a safe tourist area, but there may be more secluded/dangerous parts of Tairona I'm not sure.

Playa Crystal Was Spectacular! This is one of the beaches in Parque Tayrona.
Like swimming in a pool with live coral and exotic fish 15 feet from the shore. You're swimming with the fishes. Great experience. The beach was beautiful. The sand is a tan color.

Enjoy!

I was at La Playa Cristal in Parque Tayrona about 2 months ago. The beach is beautiful, and not a lot of people, and no vendors. The restaurant had good shrimp. It was the first time snorkeling for both me and my wife, and it was great! The exotic fish swim right around you on the shore. The water is very clear, especially at the shore. Muy romantica!

Was there on June 8th Main entrance still has the Yellow Fever inoculation requirement sign, but they do not enforce it. Restaurant at the main beach and a small makeshift restaurant at the beach near the gazebo. Mules for hire to pack your stuff in near the place where the truck drops you off.
