Anybody know if they have a Vizio TV dealer in Cali?

If so, any info please. If not, any info where they sell Sony TV's in Cali. Looking for a 47-48" TV. Thanks again.

Hola!

Why does it have to be a Sony? Cali isn't Kansas, so maybe looking for and if you find a Sony you will get ripped off with the price! If you can not find one, then what are your other options for a TV? Samsung has good quality TV's! You can find their store at Palmetto mall. You could try importing a Sony from the US on your next trip back, if you can not find what you need in Cali.

I brought a 32" Olevia via Avianca from the USA and you definitely will get a great price in the USA. You can expect to pay 50% more in Cali, so compare USA prices with similar TV's you do find in Cali. Then, look for USA prices for the Sony you like. Quickly you will fly to the USA and come back with your TV from the USA!

Avianca officially charges $100 extra for oversized baggage. My 32" TV was 42" wide with side speakers. Possibly the 47-48" diagonal TV could be a big as my TV, if the speakers are located at the bottom of the TV. Avianca DID NOT charge me the $100 for my oversized box. I bought my TV for $450, but would have cost $900 in Cali. Paying the $100 for the 47-48" TV baggage, still makes it worth the trip back to the US!

Sony Flatscreen 46": w/o pedestal= 46x27x5.5......

Avianca maximum size for checked luggage: 90" for L W D

Sony Flatscreen 46": (without shipping box): 78.5"

90-78.5"= 11.5 inches for shipping box......

Like i said...good luck bringing a 47-48" TV via Avianca......

now, if you said a 40" Sony flatscreen, then you can.....

Sony Flatscreen 40" TV Shihpping Box: 14.5Dx43Wx33H

which equals 90.5....allowable per 90"....(they probably forgive the .5 inch excess)

i already did the homework........and a phone call to Avianca confirmed....

now i just need to buy it..jajajjajaja

Hola!

Walmart.com has a 47" Vizio for $1387. The spec's are 10.0 x 44.0 x 30.0, but the shipping size is larger. Avianca should be able to handle it!

measure the box and then report back.....size of TV is not the measured factor.....the box is unless of course you intend to ship it without the box....=)

hmmm....Walmart.....10 plus 44 plus 30=84 inches....90-84 leaves 6 inches for the box.....

still not going to happen with Avianca.....unless you remove the box....=)

You can send things like TVs as cargo, but checked luggage is a different story...also, the size of the box is not indicative of the size of the TV inside.....

so have i Brian, that is why i thought about doing the same.....Avianca is actually more liberal when it comes to TV sets....

It is all academic information, until the original poster makes his decsion.

That TV would not be for me! It uses 400 watts of electricity per hour. My 32" Olevia uses just uses 80 watts of power.

Thanks for the info. But I was wondering if there is a dealer in Cali that can handle's Vizio TV's. They are cheaper than Sony's. A 42" go's for less than $900 in AK. I'll be bringing it down from the US. A 42" one would be about the right size to bring. But my novia has her heart set on a 48-50". My buddy in AK has a 42" Vizio. Looks great. The matter of the electricity is a good thought too. Was originally looking for someone in Cali that handle's Vizio's. Just in case I need to get some warranty work done. If in fact the warranty is good in Cali. If bought in the US? Again thanks.

You could pay the $100 extra baggage handling fee, like I was expecting in my case!

Probably your decision is a better idea.

You should lower its power setting to the minumum setting. Our TV had a default setting of 100 watts and I lowered it to its lowest setting, so now we are happy just using 80 watts per hour.
