Lostgringo says on Mar 15, 2008, 09:13: Tony I suppose it depends on a few things. The credibility of the person spreading the rumor. The severity of the rumor in terms what you were supposed to have done. You connections in the community and the list goes on. It is really hard to answer this question with little knowledge of what happened and how serious it is. Lowell says on Mar 15, 2008, 09:16: Colombians are very good about forgiving and forgeting. I've seen serious issues dissapear in 2-3 months. Also, people here can take offence at simple perceptions that may be false. A new rumor can be created by you or a close one to disspell the current rumor. At times my barrio can be a real "Peyton Place". They all love to talk and spread gossip. It often takes attention away from themselves. Alfred E. Newman. "What. Me Worry?" |

TonyMattei says on Mar 15, 2008, 13:52: they started rumors without knowing the facts and i am a free man trying to reconcile with her....... but in the mean time i was out and about meeting knew people and trying to promote some business that was looking for to bring back to states and to bring to colombia(wooden doors....dump trunks, etc) and apparently they pass pre judgement on people before they know the person i am with male or female.....exspecially women to women if its something they want....yes or no? i have cut all ties with her friends the ones who i think and know now are not her friends nor mine. but she continues her friendship with them for her own reasons. they said stuff i have no idea how to say in spanish nor would i say in english. but this is a lesson learned well learned......
