any suggestions for this comming long weekend in Cali?

The beach nearest Cali is not a good idea right now. It's a 2 1/2 hour ride to the port of Buenaventura, which is too dangerous for my taste at the moment. From there it is a long boat ride to a beach.

As far as girls in bikinis, on a sunny day, many of them wear tops that make them look like they are wearing bikinis as they stroll down the sidewalk, so find a liquor store with tables in front of it, on Avenida Sexta, order a beer and people watch.

If you wanna go out, do it on "safe routes"or what are called "Caravanas Vive Colombia Viaja por ella". Call 123 and ask the police which will be the safe routes in Valle ( i don't know yet which will be for this weekend). If there's a safe route to Buenaventura don't miss the choice BUT travel accompanied by a local (i won't be goping this weekend there, sorry) and not to buenaventura but to any other tourist islands near buenaventura like Juanchaco, La Bocana, Ladrilleros, etc.

Try going to San Cipriano - its a small village in the rainforrect that you have to take a cart on a railway track to get to. Its a 2 hr or son bus ride, then short walk then the cart ride. Good for a day (long day ) or O/N. Also, visit the zoo there, its nice. Maybe for the w/e you can also go to lake colina and water ski or kite surf etc.
