Try Palmaia - near mangos and huge. Awsome place with a boxing ring in the middle where the women fight it out. This was a great bar. Also try Pueblo en Sabaneta, another awsome bar with the bar dancers all over the place and great music. There is a great little bar the next street back from Folio called Santos - great musci and good crowd - much smaller.

Also you could try tiera dentro - awsome on Thurs nights (3 blocks above p lleres.

Will try Santos for a drink before heading into Folio on Friday night.. Gets good at 23:00 at Folio..

Panthdave, Santos is only good after 11 pm as well, and also better on Sat nights. I went two fri nights but wasnt so full, then went on a sat night and it was awsome. There is a place right next door which is good as well.

If u want a good place to sit and drink in Parque lleres, try a little place called Colonia - it is small but for some reason normally packed with awsome women. Never seen another gringo in there.

Also, on the street )main one with one way traffic up the hill) that is next to folio, if u head down about 3 blocks there are some discos on the left hand side that were pretty good. Also a place called Oz with live rock music is near to parque lleres.

Mcgringo - there is a cheesy bar near zona rosa that plays 70 and 80s retro. Small place - can give u the address if u want.

In approx 74 with 14 there is a bar called crabs. On Wed night it has live rock music, some of it really good. Gets busy after 1030 or 11 pm.

In Candalaria, there is a place caled Quebo Cantra (spelling). Is great Wed night and has live rock, and then a level with salsa and something else.

There is a bar called Lunabar, which on Thursdays has a ´´singles´´ type night where they give u little stickers. Not rock, but a good place. This is further out, if u want the address I can get it for u.

Great bar near P 93 , on 15th, called kukamakara that plays live spanish rock. Gets packed Thurs fri and Sat.

I'm tired of going to Zona Rosa and getting bombarded with 80's stuff, especially when I've heard Colombian radio stations playing current UK indie / alternative bands.
I know it exists in Bogota but its just a matter of finding out where the bars are!

I am in Medellin for a three day weekend..back to Miami on Monday to get back to work... I go like every three to four weeks..for the weekend love it in Medellin..Miami makes it easy..and being only 20 minutes from MIA ..
Note: IF you have the address that would be great..for luna Bar..I like to try many new places..Great to meet new people too..

Luna Bar is in Bogota. But Tierra Dentro was great when i was there, and is 3 blocks above parque lleres. Also Blue is right next to Parqe lleres and is always packed but a bit of a grunge crowd. Palmaiai should also be good Thurs.

Bars and Disco - Bogota Macgringo, here is alist of bars. Sorry about the dalay.

All nights - BBC and Irish pub in ona Rosa. Also Mink is good (zona t). In Parque 93, try bbc The red lion or Beer lounge.

Wed Night

Crabs. This is a live musci rock bar. Calle 13 # 73-23. Not bad

Quibra Canto. This is a bar in Candalaria. Has two levels and live music. Good place. Cra 5 bo 17-26

Cha Cha - Dont know the address, but taxi drivers know it. It is on the top level of the old Hilton. V´good place.

Thurs Night

Lunabar. Calle 116 no 23-08. This is like a singles bar where they give u stickers and the waitresses act like cupid matchers. A good place.

Salto Del Angel. Great place Thurs. In Parque 93. It is a restaurant that turns into a disco. The best place for Thurs.

Kukamakara. Is on the 15 th street below parque 93. Realyl good bar with live music.

Gotica. For after 1 or 2 pm. Many people go after ie salto . Calle 14 no 82-50.

Gurana. Good club next to Zona rosa 85 with 14-13.

Fri Sat.

Tabu, parque 93. Can be good. The owner put beers up to 13,000 pesos, so I dont go any more, but sometimes it is a good place.

El Sitio. Cra 11a 93-52. Good place , more relaxed (Parque 93)

Galeria cafe libro. Next to El Sitio. It is a salsa place. I had to join to get in. Is open until 6 am.

La Plaza. This is somewhere in centro, dont have the exact address. Was ok when i went. Had a stage and dancers etc.

Maria Mulata. New bar near zona T (Next to Wok). The old manager from Mr Baillas owns it so has sort of the same music etc.

Punta g. The next street over from parque 93. More upscale.

Beerstation. 3 level disco in Parque 93. More for 18 to 22 year olds.

Retro, full 80s. Ave 19, 118-52. 80s music bar. I have not been persoanlly, but have been told its good.

Cinemea - Calle 74 with 13 (very near to crabs). This is like gotica, starts after 1 or 2 and is open untl late.

and all the others are good too that I mentioned before (Kukamakara, Salto, Gotica etc)

There is a place called Primero del Mayo. For this place I have not been but have been told has lots of bars incl rock.

Usequen is good for restaurants.

Macgringo, I was in a place called Normandia (a barrio) last night with a friend. She pointed out a bar that she said was really good with live rock bands. It is open every night and has a programme etc. Its called Terra, calle 53 no 71-15. This oculd be another option for u. Ther is also a bar next door called Tierra dentro. Dont know if its related to the one in Medellin, but if so, would be pretty good.
