Any Independence Day Festivals/Events in the Washington DC area?

I read about Colombian events posted for the LA, San Diego, Chicago, etc. areas but was surprised not to see any in DC. Does anyone know if there will be a festival held either in DC or Maryland? I know that last year there was a festival at Gaithersburg Fairgrounds- will it be there again? Please let me know! Thanks in advance!

DC area event Just read your post. The only one event in the DC area I found mentioned in the Chancery website was held last Sunday (July 17) at Freedom Plaza in DC; seems like the DC area featured the least number of Independence Day events this year compared to other U.S. cities; dunno why, probably declining attendance seen in recent years...

Thanks for the response! Yeah, I prob invested 5-6 hours in internet research and didn't find anything. I thought that it was odd too. Oh well, I guess next time we have to go somewhere else to celebrate. Thanks!
