any help out there?

HI

I have written few times in the past.....one occasion I wrote about a nurse that took care of me when I was gravely ill in Bogota. THIS WOMAN IS AN ANGEL! She is precious and kind and attentive and HONEST. I wanted her to come to Arizona an
Well, this woman is going through a really really tough time - her son.....another doll - young kid - innocent when I met him....but somehow he got hooked-up with drugs - I don't think gravely - however he is a treatment place - which costs about $125 per month - supposedly it works quickly - we need something like that up here in the States!

Okay this is the plea:

Is there anyone out there that can help this woman? I believe she is working at a home for the elderly at this time..... I am not sure if it is exactly in Bogota anymore.

Is there anyone out there that may need a care giver?

please do not send any nasty emails.... no warnings or eplease only respond with a positive commment or actual hlep.

thank you

Veronica

I suppose you can give her the money to go to the Embassy and she can try and get a visa but good luck because she is probably going to be turnned down.

Look, with all due respect, my wife from Colombia would like to bring mom and dad and brothers, sister, nephews, neices, cousins etc to the United States but it ain't going to happen and why should it?

A couple of questions.

1. is she a registered nurse like an RN classification in the USA?

2. If so, does she have a specialty?

3. RN's aren't eligible for temporary work visas. They can only enter the country as green card
applicants; a process that can take two years.

4. Best bet, IMHO, would be a H-1C petition but that must be filed by a willing employer.

5. The biggest hurdle? First, you have to have a valid job offer from a U.S. based employer. The U.S. employer must obtain Department of Labor approval to hire a foreigner and will then file a special petition with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). U.S. based employers can petition for nurses in both non-immigrant (H-1B temporary worker) and employment based immigrant visa (EB-3).

6. Last, but not least, She must take CGFNS examination which is an assessment of the candidate's probability of success on the U.S. NCLEX-RN licensing examination.

One of Mrs. Gator's sister when this route and now works in Miami-Dade County where here Spanish language ability was a plus not a minus.

Other than the above she will have to throw herself on the mercy of the US Embassy Visa Center.

sananderessi - a USC can petition mom, dad, brothers , sisters etc. - If your wife has had her greencard for three years - she can apply for citizenship and once she is a citizen, then she can file for her parents - no waiting - and her brothers, sisters - substantial waiting - 5 or 6 years or more. The question is - do they really want to come to USA - most older folks don't want to break their social circles back home - my parents just liked to visit us in USA for a month or two - no more - there life back home was much more rich and satisfying. You can or your wife can look into this - not uncommon.

Is the plea for a job for the nurse in Colombia or the USA? I understood here in Colombia. Nurse is a very loosely used term in Colombia. Many people hire a "nurse" for elderly in home care or newborn help.

thanks for writing back everyone - but my plea was simply this:

is there anyone that feels moved to help this woman with approximately $125/month? or a group effort. or better yet does anyone no anyone that needs a home health nurse or live-in aid or the like? around Bogota area?

I am in a tight financial situation right now......so I cannot assist at this time.....I was just writing to this group to see if there was any help "meant to be" ........ya know, like nothing's a coincidence.....I am just writing to this group and voila!..somehow something positive happens for two people........the nurse and someone's loved one.......who knows.

So any responses? (again, please be nice......no need for any harsh comments - thanks)

Vero - I recall a post similar to this in the past, maybe it WAS you?
It is really nice you are trying to help, but it seems like you are REALLY doing a lot here ;)))Maybe SHE should be initiating this at this point? Every good and decent nurse I know is this way. Wish her luck

Either way, I hope you get a prospect and maybe this comment will bump this up one more time.
