Any Bicycle Rentals/Gyms in Medellin and/or Cali?

I'm an active cyclist here in the US. Are there places to rent performance road bikes in the aforementioned cities. I think touring an area by bicycle, is a great way to see the local sights.

I am also interested in gymnasiums that I can use on a short-term basis for early morning workouts.

There are gyms all over Cali. What part of the city will you be staying in? Cycling is super popular. The city closes off sections of major avenues on Sundays for "ciclovias" so hundreds can ride along together. As to rentals haven't heard of that but maybe talking to bike shop owners would turn one up.

Would just buy a half decent bike while you are there, and try to go out in groups as you will probably get the bike nicked if you go out by yourself on a flashy piece of machinery. Not a good idea to go out on an expensive bike in Medellin unless participating in an organised event.

gyms and biking will be easily available in either cities. I don't have any precise information but once you get there just pick up the yellow pages and start making calls. You did speak Spanish, right?
