Another K-1 QUESTION...

Assume we have gone through the K-1 process. My fiancee is with me in US. We apply and receive a marriage license. Do we have to get married in US or can we go back to Colombia and get married and have no trouble returning back to US after the wedding? Thanks for your help.

The K1 visa is good for one entry into the US. It must be used within six months of receipt. Once your fiance enters the port of entry (airport) in the US, you guys have 90 days to get married IN the US. If your fiance leaves the US before the wedding, or even before receiving Permanent Residency after the wedding, his / her case is considered abandoned, and he / she will not be allowed to re-enter the US again, without obtaining another visa.

So in a nutshell, the answer to your question is: Yes, you have to get married in the US, and No, you can't travel to Colombia to get married. If getting married in Colombia is mandatory for you guys, I suggest going through the K3 process.
