How about exploring uncommon ways to get there.
In 2000, I drove alone to Mexico city from Montreal, Canada. 4 1/2 days and about 5000 Kms. Roamed around for 3 months, did 4 cities and drove back ; a lot of fun and no major problems.
That could be fun to drive to Colombia but wouldn't do it alone this time, anybody wants to join? :-) I will pick you up on a street corner in little rock jejejej No heavy booze or smoke though.
I also thought about taking a boat from Miami or Louisiana, anybody inquired about that? Hope to hear from you

ColombiaBoard says on Jul 15, 2005, 08:07: Drivin´in Colombia You can´t drive from Panama to Colombia because there are no roads between the two countries so you´ll have to ship your car from Colon to Cartagena and then continue from there.

I've often wondered about the feasibilty/safety of driving to Colombia from Detroit, where my wife (una Colombiana) and I live. I would imagine that there might be auto ferries for that Panama-Colombia link, do you know, ColombiaBoard?
